Upgrading soon!

I'm pulling the trigger on a bit of an upgrade next week, trading my 05 6mt for an 07 Moroccan Red Type S

22k out the door, 61k miles. Around here, I see most Type S's for 25k+

The car is absolutely mint, except for one little thing. The previous owner put Base 07 wheels on it and sold the type s wheels, which means this summer i'll be buying a set of type s rims

Another big thing for me ... Manual to Auto... Traffic is killin me with the clutch, i love it when im out for a cruise but 90% of time time im just trying to drive somewhere, and i almost always seem to get stuck in traffic

its similar to my current color and i love it, so thats just me

As for the manual, yeah maybe but for me it isnt all about being speed racer, this is a daily driver for me, and the manual was getting very uncomfortable in the traffic around me... and its not even NY lol

I cant see paying 22k for a Auto tl 2yrs newer with 67k less miles. Didnt u just do a 105k service on your car? Its just my opinion What abt your car payment? You know that car can last you 250k miles. But in the end its your desicion

No, i havent done the 105k maintenance on the car and you're right on the amount im spending vs. what im getting. To be perfectly honest i could be buying a base right now because the big thing making me switch is i really do want the automatic, i just happened to find a type s within range of affordable for me. Car payment goes up ~ 150$ a mo. + an additional 25$ a mo for insurance.

To be perfectly honest, another reason im doing this is I always wanted a type s but i rushed into buying the 6mt 2 years ago. Not to say it wasnt a good deal, and it wasnt a good car, but if i waited i could have had a type s, so now here i am 2 years later, fixing my impatience from before :p

Whats the reason you want a type-s? Just curious. Most people want it because its a faster car,but an auto type-s wouldnt be compared to a 6speed.Not trying to be difficult just curious

Heh I know you're not trying to be difficult

I like the body styling more, interior A LOT more (Especially nav and backup camera). All the little things that are different about the type s to me make it much more classy. Plus the steering felt more tight on the s than the base, or maybe i was just crazy when i test drove it

Another big plus is the fact it has AUX input for my ipod, which i have to use the cassette deck thing currently in my TL.

Front half of my car also probably needs a repaint there are so many rock chips and such (it looks sandblasted in some parts) ... a result of being primarily highway driven for the first 80k of its life.

Good choice on making the switch to a Type S its for sure worth it!!! All the differences between the base and type S IMO are worth it alone, not to mention the even bigger differences from 04-06 to the 07-08. MRP is a great color but I agree I would for sure get a set of type S wheels back on that thing as soon as you can. Looks real nice in that picture congrats!!!

22k out the door for an 07 type s? its an okay deal...i got my 07 type s for 17.5k OTD.

or did you mean you traded your 05 TL AND 22k for the 07 tl-s?

btw, forget what other people are saying about how 05 6mt is better than the 07 type s 5a. having a newer model with better looks and better interior is well worth it. plus most people here are diehard 6mt fanboys, but that only accounts for a small percentage of the people out there. most people would prefer the tl-s 5at because a tl is supposed to be a luxury car, not a racer.

and yes i've driven sticks before, its fun and all, but the 5at has plenty of performance.

Nah what i meant was the type s cost 22k total. I put 3 down and traded in my tl

It definitely felt like a better ride when i test drove it compared to mine, and im 110% sure the auto is plenty fast for me
