Upgraded from a 2G TL to this!
Hi everyone! As you may know already, I'm fairly new to this forum but I'm pretty excited to be part of it!
So back in the summer '09 I was studying abroad in England and traveling around.
I used to drive a 2007 Honda Pilot AWD (it was a lease) back in the states. As the lease came near its end, my parents and I started thinking about getting a different car.
I started doing my research online and that's when I found the "realistically affordable" car of my dreams. It was a '07 CBP TL-S with roughly 76k miles on it. And it the sticker price was 26k.
I told my parents about it and we agreed that they would pay the down payment and I would be the one paying the rest of it off, which I was totally okay with.
I was pretty excited to fly back to California to see it but a few days before we were heading to the dealership, my older sister got into a car accident that was pretty expensive. The money that was saved up went to repairing her car and I was left with two options: Lower my car price budget or walk.
So I ended up deciding on purchasing a '03 3.2 TL that had around 96k miles for $8.5k.
I have to admit, it killed me to see a bunch of Type S's rolling around everywhere.
I spent the next two and a half years saving up whatever money I had and now to start off 2012, I finally got the car that I've been wanting so badly.
She has 28k miles and I'm loving every single minute of the car.
------------------------------------------------------------
TL;DR : planned on getting a TL-S, financial setbacks, got one 2.5 years later.
She's a bit dusty but once I take her back to LA, I'm going to be sure to give it a nice good wash.

Thanks for the support guys!
The plan for now is to save up some more money.
The car didn't come with floor mats, which I'm kind of bummed out about so I ordered a set of all season floor mats from an Acura dealership in New York.
So besides the floor mats, I guess until I think of anything, the only money I'll be spending on a constant basis will be fuel. It's $3.92 a gallon for Shell V-Power here.

Cheers to both of you!
Haha, I spent at least three days just looking for cheap all season mats. I thought I was gonna go crazy :P
Awesome story!! You got the better deal in the end with a Type-S with only 28K miles. Wow, that's low. Congrats and welcome to AZ.
Register it at www.myacura.com and store your Navi and Radio codes there for safe keeping.
BTW, the all seaon floor mats are a must in my book, along with the trunk tray.

I just buy universal ones.
I ordered one from amazon but the smell of rubber is terrible.
I put it outside for one week and wait for the smell goes out.
Hopefully!
I didn't get a lot of time to take more pictures (I've been driving the car around a lot
) But here are a few that I took with my phone. Apologies if the quality is bad. I don't have a crazy DSLR or something fancy like that...although I wish I knew someone who did so I could take way better pics!

Enjoy your CBP TL-S :-D.
Its probably a good thing you waited, 26k for a 76k '07 TL-S was overpriced imo, :-D. I bought my '08 TL-S 6MT with 42k miles for 24k beginning of the year last year.
Hope its everything you wanted it to be!
