No way Jose. Can you imagine if everyone who had a car with a plastic bumper got to return it? The fact is that almost no plastic bumpers match their metal body panel neighbors exactly (regardless of make).

Unhappy Time is a precious thing

It seems as though she made a bad thing worse by wasting time complaining about this, having the repaint done, and causing more problems like the scratches to the tail light which was my number one reason for not complaining about my WDP mismatch. I spend more time Looking at my Navigation/DVD Display than I do the rear bumper anyway, and sorry to say, but from the pics you took, it looked better before you repainted.

I understand wanting things to be perfect but who's to say that even if you eventually did get it matched pretty closely, two months down the line someone rear ends your car or you back into something or rocks fly into it and you have to get it repainted or replaced, you will be right back to square one.

Update...

They now have the car again. They came and picked it up on Thursday from my work. I did show them the tail light and the dirty seat. The tech agreed that this is totally unacceptable and promised that the car would be returned with these problems fixed and also with the same amount of gas it left with. He also agreed that the paint still was mismatched and that they could do better. This time, I will go to pick the car up myself, I will not allow them to deliver it to me. This way I can speak with the manager in person if it's still not correct.

I know that some people have learned to live with this issue, however I will not and I expect it to be fixed to the best of their abililty. Plus, they gave me a brand new MDX as a loaner. The gray bumper on it doesn't exactly match but its not as noticeable. I'm not an SUV kind of girl but it's quite nice!

I recently had this issue rectified at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA and I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the quality of the job they did on my WDP paint mismatch. I will try to take a pic when I can so that you can see it is indeed possible to match the bumpers to the rest of the car. Don't give up!! I came from a BMW and I told the service manager and the Acura Corporate rep that I met with that the only time I had to visit the dealership in 3 years of ownership was to get some oil, purchase a key ring, etc. Keep the faith!!

I would love to see your pics if you can find them!
Thanks!

Is there a solution about the mismatch of the WDP rear bumper? Should people take it to a 3th party that does a better job or the same result as the dealer?

When a dealer replaces a bumper after an accident with an OEM bumper, it does not have a VIN on it. All replacement parts from the factory do not come with VINs on them. That's how you can tell if a vehicle has been in the accident. Just look for parts with no VINs.

I doubt your Acura dealer will ever fix your problems. They are complete morons along with ACS. Acura will never be on the level of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Audi, and even Infiniti due to the BS problems they have with their vehicles and the BS service they provide. Acura owners have to go through the stupidest crap with their cars.

My bumper was bright yellow compared to the rest of the car. Some people can ignore it but I can't. After all of this, I'll never go for another Acura, I should have gotten the BMW, was only $25 more per month, although I do like the Acura better, I can't get past the mismatched paint thing.

I know this topic is worn out...but yesterday I saw a new Hyuandi with a 30 day tag, in a white pearl color....the bumper matched PERFECT with the rest of the car...Why can't Acura get it right. This really makes Acura look terrible. Especially when I also saw a Dodge Neon, in white pearl with a matching bumper.

P.S.- I still don't have my car back!
