Update on my warped rotors....
The dealer decided all four of my rotors needed to be resurfaced, and therefore all the brake pads needed to be replaced (at 5500 miles, mind you) -- all under warranty.
They also rebalanced my A-spec 18" wheels under warranty.
The shimmy is less around 80mph.. but still there .. but NO shimmy when braking, so that was resolved.
They "claim" that I was the first '04 TL to have warped rotors ...whatever

I get my TSBs from Alldata.com, but there's nothing listed for the 04 TL as yet. I don't know if there might be a delay for the site posting the info.
Glad to hear things are better with the brakes, tho.

My rotors were starting to warp as well around 7500. I drive aggressively though. One night on the highway after slowing down fairly quickly (oxymoron) to get off at exit (100-50) the steering wheel shook fairly violently and tires were being weird. The dealer resurfaced rotors, but did not replace brake pads. Seems fine to me for now. You have got to push these guys to get something right! Side note - how many miles for anyone if they have worn down the EL42's? I have around 7500 and had mine rotated, fronts are so bald they need to be replaced in about 500 miles...

Burning Brakes
PeterUbers and Nightrider,
I hate to say this but I think turning the rotors is only a temporary fix. I am sure you guys are fully aware of the fact that the process thins the rotors out which will make them even more warp prone unless you do much less aggressive braking. I assume you guys both have the 5AT brakes. I wonder what is it exactly that Brembo does to make theirs so much less prone to wraping. Is it in the materials, manufacturing process, or design? Hmmm. Good luck to you both and others. I hate warped rotors just as much as the next guy. I had to deal with it on my 97 Camry on end till I got Brembo OEM replacements.

Yeah, they cut your rotors and you're HAPPY with that solution?
In addition to being more prone to warp, what's gonna happen when you bring the car in at 40-50k miles to get new brakes?
I'll tell you what's gonna happen. They're going to say "We can't cut these rotors again and keep them in tolerance (because we cut the hell out of them at 5500 miles to make you happy) so you're gonna need new rotors AND brakes. That will be $2000, not covered under warranty."
Granted, you would have had to pay for the brake pads anyway but 4 rotors + install is a lot more expensive that replacing 4 pads and resurfacing the rotors!
That's not a solution IMO. I would have made them put new rotors on NOW so you won't have to do it at the first brake job.
Unless you have a 36k or 45k miles lease, in which case who cares because its not your problem!

I really don't know what else I can do here...

They were able to cut your rotors THREE times?
On my 98 CL they were able to cut the fronts twice and the rears once before they needed to be replaced.
I guess cutting them was really your only option, though I would have bitched about it because that'sone less cut you'll get later on.
