I don't know what year it was, but it was a nearly 2000's RL that I heard in a parking lot that beeped twice when the owner unlocked it with the key fob. Can anyone confirm that the RL does this and if it's possible for the TL to be able to do the same thing? Thanks.

 

My parking lights flash and I hear the locks cycle- that's enough confirmation for me.

Most cars will beep only when locking them so you can tell from a distance they they got the signal. For unlock, you will know soon enough as you get to your car that it's unlocked or not. The TL has a 30 second delay so unlocking from a long distance will only cause the car to relock before you arrive to it anyway.

 

My beeps if I press lock button twice and if trunk is opened it doesn't beep.

 

So? your question is can you make your 3rd gen TL beep twice when arming?

 

I think his is talking about the unlock 2 blips.

Thats aftermarket and trademark of Viper and one more I cant remember. Look into those systems

 

Why would you want to announce to the whole world that you've just unlocked your car?

 

I didn't know the whole world would be able to hear 2 little beeps...

And I would like mine to beep twice when unlocking because I use the window roll down feature a lot, and sometimes I don't know if my car gets the signal in bright sunlight where I can't see the lights flash.

 

I think the only options from factory are lights flash, horn beeps or both. If you'd like something different you'll want to look at aftermarket alarms.

I just look at my windows. If they start to go down I know it worked. If not, I click again.
