Ultimate Scam?

So i found this white TL type S for sale on autotrader.com and i emailed the seller. The email he email me back it come with pictures, but i don't have time to post it on here.

" Hello there!
I appreciate that you contacted me.First let me say that the Acura TL is available for $8,500.
Probly the cleanest Acura TL for sale anywhere. 2007(the best year)with only 27,595 miles. A Acura TL with Air Conditioning, Climate Control System, Sunroof, Clock, Satellite Radio, 6 Speaker System, Cruise Control, Security System, Traction Control System and a lot more. This Acura TL has never had paintwork and needs nothing. One of the best all around driving cars you can buy.Every option you could get.If you have been waiting on a real clean enthusiast owned Acura TL you have found it.
A Totally Rust, Corrosion And Flood Free Vehicle.Never been in any accidents.Clear title.
Where are you located?
The reason why I'm selling it's my divorced settlement.....
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate ask
Best Regards "

here is the second email he reply when i ask for the vin#

Here is the vin : 19UUA66267A024819
The car makes the object of a divorce settlement sale, that is why the price is low, first come first served, no loans, just cash !
I am in Denver, CO.
The thing is i had 2 guys promiss me to buy it and pick-it up :
one didn't show up and the other called saying he lost the money, so i can't afoord to take days off my work for that, that is
why i gave to a shipping company that will shipp it to the next owner, it is sealed in container, so i'm trying to sell it online,
if i don't get lucky in about a week you can come pick it up
so if you want to buy it i will ship to you and deal trough eBay (since i had it on their site for a while).
You would have to send me your full shipping adress and phone number, and if you do that you can consider it yours. You wil buy under these therms :

- you pay to eBay and they will transfer the funds to me ONLY after you receive the car

- you are given a 5 days inspection period to decide if want to keep it or ship it back at my expense

You pay ebay the deposit, they will ship the car , you get within max 3 days, inside the car you get the bill of sale,
the title and a car affidavit that you fill up and than get it notarized at a law office for 40 dollars,
depending on your decision in that affidavit ebay will transfer the funds to me or give it back to you and ship the car back to me at my expense.1st stept is to send your full
shipping adress and phone number for ebay to send you an invoice and assist you.

So what do you think?

and i saved it to show everyone out there in AZine world its a scam you have the littlest commen sense to know this is fake this is an email i got back from a TL-S listing a few months back

View As Web Page

First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I am selling it at this price ($2,900) because I just finished the divorce with my husband. After the divorce was finished the car remained on my name. Now as a woman i don't need it. This car is in excellent working condition, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title, 3 months transferable warranty.
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services.
We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20,000. The final price that I want for this car is $2,900 including shipping and handling.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
I will wait your answer(if you are interested to buy) very soon.

Haha. I saw a 335i for sale on Craig's list for $10,000. I e-mailed the seller out of sheer curiousity, and got a similar story.

Basically,

"I tried to sell it before going overseas, but I didn't sell it and I had to leave. Now it's sitting in NY and I'm losing money paying someone to garage it over there. You can send me the money and I'll have them release the car to you"

LOL..RIGHT!

SCAM!! Immediately report them to the FTC. This almost happened to me when I was selling my WRX. Basically the guy was going to send me $20,000 check and then I was to go to my bank and take my fee of $12,500 and then send the difference back to the buyer. Ummm..no. Unless your dealing with a reputable dealer I would recommend on personally seeing the car before making any decisions. My situation may be a little different than whats happening here, but this deal sure does smell funny.

Side note: I actually still have the check that the scammer sent to me and he wasn't a very good scammer considering the paper that was used for the check was pretty much regular printing paper, dumbass.

I just can't ever imagine buying a car sight-unseen off eBay or any online site. Not only would I want to test drive it and look it over but the scam factor is just too great.

If the seller brings in personal issues into the sale there is a chance it is a scam.
Which in this case. It is.

WOW!

Total scam.

At first I thought is was a salvage title or something, but no, this is someone just waiting for a sucker to come along.

OTOH, my brother is in Denver. I'd trust him with $8500. It would be funny to see what the response is when you say, "My brother will meet you to look at the car with $8500 cash."

I'm sure the car would dry up and disappear pretty quick.

I had a story like this before!! instead it was local and with a boat not a car.
Her husband left her to go to Cali. to work and never return, turns out he found a new girlfriend. so he had left his Bass boat that probilly worth 5000 or more. she said just take it out of my yard for $800.00. I took her cash and left with the boat.. but this TL-S is a scamm

The NSX I mentioned in my earlier post was local also. When I pressured to view the car first, I didn't hear anything back.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

I almost fell for it and was strongly considering it.

It didn't appear to be a scam to me because i thought eBay would be a legitimate place and that they'd protect buyers but oh well.

here's my email:

******************************************
Hello,

I'm glad you're interested in my 2008 Acura TL that I have for sale. The car has no hidden problems and never involved in any kind of accidents, ONLY 16,353 miles, The VIN# is: 19UUA66288A036181, Engine: 3.2L SOHC PGM-FI 24-valve VTEC V6 engine, Transmission: Automatic.

For more pictures click on the link :

http://s674.photobucket.com/albums/v...008%20AcuraTL/

The final price that I want for this car is $12,000.00 including shipping and handling. The only problem is that I could not meet with you now, but I will assure that you will not be disappointed by this car.

Three weeks ago we sold the house from Canada. My wife is a doctor specialized in plastic surgery and 2 years ago opened a clinic in Germany. We decided to move us all in Germany. I'm in Little Rock, AR at my parents and I'll stay here until I'll sell the car and finish with all this and go in Germany. This is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet.

The vehicle has been inspected and has been confirmed as perfect fiscal and mechanical condition. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title. You will take over ownership at delivery, you will sign the papers of the car and transfer it on your name.

The car is at the shipping company ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. For the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer eBay services.

So ,if you are sure about the car and want to go ahead this way, please email me your eBay user name, your full name, address for shipping and phone number so I can initiate the transaction through eBay.

Thank you!
Ing. Edward Pietrzyk

P.S - Sorry for this long answer but i wanted to be clear, I have few days to do this and leave the country.

YEA I KNOW! Walk into a dealer and get $20k cash for it on the spot.

Thing I don't get is what kind of scam is it? To get your personal information? You first send your address and phone number but you don't actually have to send money.

......ya know.... they are selling Acura TL's for $8500 these days.... and they took the word gullible out of the dictionary too.... crazy world we live in

how do people fall for this shit? and whats even worse.. on Long Island, a few months ago, same shit... old couple from PA saw a porsche for like $25,000.. got the BS story... drove 5 hours to LI., NY.... to meet up with the "seller"... and a bunch of crackhead imigrant teenages hoped out of a van, and beat the old couple up.. stole their phones and $5k cash they were going to leave as a deposit

luckily, L.E. was able to track the dumbass crooks... some people, never heard of or understood what exactly an IP ADDRESS is... and how that whole "networking" thing works.. they think its magic, and they can scam people, and get away with it... hiding behind their computers

i'd spit in the face of a person who tried to run this scam.... thats whats wrong with the world these days

When I was looking for my CL in I saw at least 10 of these a week. The one I pinned it down as a scam with was a 2002 328 BMW for 6k. The "seller" did the ebay/shipping company nonsense.

What amazes me is how they get the VINS?

Back in the 1970s my dad's friend got a mint condition Camaro for $300. A woman was going through a nasty divorce and her husband was out of town on vacation. She just wanted to get rid of the car and put the ad in a newspaper for the first person with $300 to get the car.

Obviously with the internet and lawsuits these days, this would never happen. But back in the day, "too good to be true" wasn't always the case!

I would never buy a car over the internet from a private party, period. I have to see and drive the car first. There are some honest sellers but there are also scumbags.
