I guess it's a crapshoot...
Obviously OEM is better, but I've had no issues running DEPO. I've opened multiple sets of both types and other than a slightly more flimsy bezel and different type of plastic...they look pretty identical.

I just bought OEM. haha
I really don't like fog or water in my lights. And maybe aftermarket would or wouldn't leak. I don't know. It seems to be about a 50/50 chance from what I have read. I would love to save $100 but I bought the OEM anyway. Just close your eyes, Turn your head, and Cough! haha

I bought a set of DEPO lights about 2 months ago. With about 4 washes and a couple storms I haven't had a problem. What I'm thinking might be a big problem is that the seal is not seated right when people swap them. You gotta make sure that seal is correct when putting the LED board on. I also make sure my lights were sitting flush and tight on the car.

Resurrection this thread from the dead

I just bought a set of OEM TYPE S tailights for my 07 Base TL and plan to slap them on this weekend (If i get them in the mail by then ! )

The DIY seems pretty simple - did anyone had to change out the OEM Gaskets when you replaced your Base TL tailights with the OEM Tye S tail lights?

I asked the dealer who I ordered the OEM tail lights from if they will come with new gaskets but he wasnt sure.

Just want to make sure there isent any condensation with the new lights.,

the gasket is foam. or plastic or rubber. and will swell to match contours of tails...
so, unless your stock ones are RIPPED and torn, no need to replace

Thanks man.

I dont think they are torn but will check them out when I remove them. Its about 6 bucks a part so not too steep. Dont plan on taking these new lights off again so wanna make sure I dont need to drop the bumper again

i just installed a tail light yesterday....

i made it easy on my self and removed the rear wheels.
easy access to fender/bumper screw. one(1) in each wheel well.
then, I didnt even remove the bottom clips that hold in bumper to rear...
next, i popped out the small punch hole covers that reveal two 10mm bolts, on each side of tails.
that's it! that gave enough space to uninstall tails and install

Just got TYC nsf certified tls TAILS. One was cracked and the other has uneven black chrome and black glue inside the lens on the black chrome part, near the turn signal part. I guess orig is the only way to go to avoid these issues
