Type-S Splash Guards

Do many of you have the splash guards for your TL, specifically the Type-S?

I have a pair but wasn't sure if I should install them as I heard they can scratch your paint if not installed correctly. I also have a NBP so anything to help with scratches/chips is also something I like to consider.

Just curious if many of you have them and how you like them. Do they lower the sportiness of the S, I really don't want that lol.

I've got them but they don't seem to fit quite right. There's a gap between the back part of the guards and the body panel but it's not really noticeable unless you're standing right next to the car. I think they look fine and they definitely reduce the amount of crud that splashes on the sides of my car so I'm happy with them. The instructions recommend putting a heavy coat of wax on before installing them to help reduce the chance of scratches.

i have them on my TL-S. they fit fine and i will not consider removing them because i live in Minnesota. i dont think they look bad at all especially if you get the ones color matched to your car. if you want pictures, let me know and i'll make it happen after work.

I had the splash guards on my Type-S with no issues. I got rid of them when I installed my Aspec kit. If you're ever planning on doing that I would suggest you hold off.

I think the OEM painted splash gaurds actually improve the look of the car. When I see a Type S without them it just looks incomplete like its missing something. In a way they give the car like a ground effect kit kind of look. Also, they do work!!! When I was looking for a Type S the ones without the gaurds had rock chips on the body panels in front of the rear wheels. Type S's with the gaurds did not have any chips on the side of the car. And even if you didnt like the look they are so minor thats its not a big deal especially on black.
No scratching issues either. I mean maybe if you removed them you would see the outline of where they used to be, but I dont see why you would ever take them off once they have been installed.

as promised...

first things first though... yes, front looks lifted, but seems to happen when parked on my driveway (fairly steep incline) and shooting up into fender makes it look way worse. haha on level ground, car looks normal. dont even comment on how dirty it is because it's been raining all week!

anyway, TL-S splash guards

Here's a couple pictures of my Type S with the splash guards on. I think that they look great, and kinda complete the look. I'm lowered as well, but usually don't have any problems scraping at all. I avoid all speedbumps!

Thanks for the pics heza and mn07tls.

Is there anything else I should do besides putting a good coat of wax on them before installing?

Hope I'm not jacking this thread, but need some info...

Do the front splash gaurds for the 08 Type S fit on a 08 Base TL? I installed an 08 Type S rear bumper on my Base TL and learned that the Base rear mud guards don't fit on the Type S rear bumper. Also, I want to get a color matched set.

I wish the splash guard fit with the aspec kits. It rains a lot in michigan and I get mud splatters all over my doors. Pain in my ass.
