Type-S Sidemarker

I found some Type-S sidemarkers on eBay and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how these side markers actually look when compared to the OEM Type-S style ones...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/220925186077...ht_5459wt_1035

The price is right and the picture in the ad is just a generic picture and not a live actual product picture so I'm a bit skeptical.

Nothing against USR, but I really don't want to buy his side markers because

1. Don't sell them for only the rear
2. Price
3. Look cheap as hell

AUTHENTIC Type-S Sidemarkers

This is how the one on the eBay ad looks...

I got those. They look OEM. The only thing is that the foam padding on the back side of them is a little thick, so you'll have to find a way to shave it down a little so that it clips in completely.

They look identical to me

But regarding the ebay seller, people on here have ordered from neodials before and they say that they were great.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/oem-vs-depo-tails-843393/

^ a couple people in that thread said that they ordered taillights from neodials and they had no complaints

Can you post a close up picture of how they look on your TL? Close enough for me to see the quality of it

Thanks, but I'd rather stay away from those. The quality looks horrendous in comparison to OEM. Sure they look good at night, but up close in the day they look like shit

Yeah they fit on the Base model TL without a problem. Usually if you buy the OEM Authentic Type-S side marker the connector for it is very slightly different than the base model. People here on AcuraZine said despite the connector being slightly different, if you just push the two connectors together very hard it will still plug up and work perfectly fine.

These eBay ones look almost 100% like the OEM Type-S side markers (unlike the USR ones that are a long way from looking OEM) and you don't have to worry about jamming the two connectors together like you would if you were to buy the OEM type-s ones. This is what it says on the ebay listing

Acura only offers the 07-08 Type-S with Smoke Rear Side Marker Lights, but the plug is different than the base models. Now, this is the perfect solution, same OEM quality, fitment, color, style but specifically made for the 04-08 base models TL, perfect upgrade to look exactly like the TL-S!

I thank you... so... FUCKIN MUCH! That's exactly what I needed. THANK YOU!

I started this thread to ask SPECIFICALLY about the eBay sidemarkers sold by that seller to see if they LOOK ANYTHING LIKE the OEM Type-S side markers.

Based on the pictures that 'djDANNY' provided me, they look like a 90% (Hell, I would even say a 100% match) compared to the OEM Type-S sidemarkers.

USR Side markers on the other hand look NOTHING like OEM. Looks like a cheap piece of plastic. The pattern and design on it doesn't even match the FRONT OEM side marker. It doesn't even come close to looking like the OEM Type-S rear side marker.

USR - Looks more black, and not even close to smoke grey like the real Type-S side markers. The pattern on it is a horizontal line going from left to right, while the real Type-S side markers doesn't even have horizontal lines. Worst of all, why the HELL is the plastic where the LEDs are located so translucent and clear compared to the rest of the side marker? That really makes it look horrible and low quality aka CHEAP. The whole side marker doesn't even flow well in comparison to the real Type-S side marker.

EBAY - Picture speaks for itself. Closest match to the real deal for half the price.

So when it comes to matching the OEM Factory Type-S rear side marker it's more like

OEM > eBay seller Neondials >>>>>>>>>>> USR

I just wanted to put in the disclaimer that these side markers look fantastic and very OEM, but it won't fit in perfectly. The foam backing that provides the seal so that water doesn't get inside is a little on the firm side so it doesn't compress all that well. You'll have to find a way to trim it down a little so that the side marker can fully clip in. But once it's in the fitment looks perfect.

Neondials and USR are the same people/company. Yes I have those sidemarkers and I can't tell the difference between them and OEM and I got them directly from USR.

Not to hijack or anything, but why do people with base TLs replace their side markers? Don't they already have them? What's the difference between that and the one on the Type-S?

base ones are red. During the day they look like a red reflector. Type s rear ones match the base front ones. They look like a gray reflector.

tl base are red
type s are smoked side markers

I bought the one's on ebay too and they were perfect. I didn't have to shave anything down nor are they visibly ghetto looking. Can't tell the difference if it's OEM or not

Im about to order these side markers on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/310587865522...84.m1423.l2649

From what Ive seen, these look the closest to OEM. USR side markers have a different lens that doesnt match the front unlike these ebay ones.

I'm in the market for type-s sidemarkers for my 07 base. Reading through this thread has led to some pretty good insight. Only thing is the links are dead because they are from years ago. Just wondering if these are the ones I should get to have the OEM look. http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=311377513770

Thanks in advance!

liscopp...just buy replacements, simple to install. The Depo sidemarkers work fine and are simple to install.
