type-s rear lip???

hey guys,

just wondering... that opening between the two exhaust ports on the type-s rear lip... what's supposed to be there?? i see a number of people doing diy kinda things with mesh from home depot or cutting up the base honeycomb plastic and mounting it in that space.

is there an actual part # for it that i can get from the dealer? trying to avoid going the diy route... i always end up screwing something up.

As I know so far , I think nothing go in there . The hole is just to see the honeycomb behind it.

Ohhh I see. But the thing is, I have an 05 tl and we don't have the honeycomb inserts in the bumper. So I guess I'll have to end up going the diy route. Thanks!

Well, you would need to cut the exhaust opening wider anyway. Might as well just cut all the way across.

Thanks, guys!! I think I just might do the home depot mesh. I saw a guy who's done it. Came out pretty nice! He painted it black and clear coated it. Seems easy to secure it too. I'd love to do the honeycomb insert but I think I'd screw it up. Metal mesh seems simpler and it wouldn't hurt my wallet as much if I mess up and redo it.
