It won't fit; the opening isn't large enough.

The alternative is to purchase a Type-S A-Spec rear lip which will only cost about $260 extra on top of your Type-S exhaust price.

Or, the buyer could just sell his current A-Spec lip and purchase a new Type-S one, so he only really spends a little extra to upgrade.
(Sell current lip for $200+, spend extra 60 bucks to upgrade = winning)

You getting a new exhaust system?

There's a third option there. You can stretch the openings by using a heat gun and a large diameter bar to do the shaping. If you take your time, you can get it to look almost factory-like.

That sounds risky. You have the possibility of really screwing up your bumper if you over soften the material (whether it be Polypropylene or Polyurethane). Plus if he doesn't want to buy a lip for it to put over the existing bumper, just use the current bumper with the Type-S quads, I don't think that the paint would stretch enough without cracking or peeling.

Trust me, it takes a lot to over soften it.

Also, the paint around the actual openings is rubberized and will stretch with the plastic.

Gotcha. I didn't know as I don't have a TL (yet). I'm looking to get a Type-S at a decent price (They're going for ~$28-30K for about 30K miles from a dealer before talking. A bit high IMO).

It depends on how thick the bumper is at that point there, but if the paint is rubberized then it should stretch. Even if it doesn't, what you may be able to do is strip the paint where you stretch the bumper, and then spray it black (The underside of the bumper, not an actual show surface). It would help hide any defects from stretching the bumper.

But still, stretching each outlet ~2" for each opening will put a lot of stress in the bumper. It will be much more susceptible to cracking if it is to get hit. Just warning you.
