Sorry guys but Ive tried searching and couldnt find the answers I was looking for.

I have an 07 Type S and I want to change my front bumper to the 07-08 base bumper. What exactly am I going to need to get rid of and what OEM parts do I need to order from Acura to do the whole conversion? Cause ive read about the grill's being different, bumper grill inserts, etc. Any help would be useful.

Last thing to the admins, I think we should have a sticky that has pictures and briefly explains the differences between all setups: base, aspec, type S, and type S aspec. just my

 

Good idea on the post with all the different set ups, it would be really helpful. Im trying to figure out if it would be worth it to upgrade from the 04-06 front end to the 07-08 type s.

1. Front grille:

the grilles are basicly the same so don't worry about changing them. However, the only different between the grilles of the type s and the base is that the type s are black chrome that's all.

2. Bottom grille:

Why do you want to change your front bumper? Do you like the base tl a-spec kit more than the type s? if so, I wouldn't buy the base front bumper. You will have to have it painted so you will spend a lot of money. Buy the front under spoiler of the base tl and put it on your bumper, that's what i did

Yes.

You have to cut up the base a-spec lip to make it fit, though.

If not, it will still fit even if you don't cut it and it will still look nice.

Ha, funny you should ask, I've been reading for the past 2 days on how I could get a 07-08 front bumper. I have an 04 Base...Would consider working a deal

 

you would def need to get the 04-06 grille as well..cause its a little smaller than yours

07-08 type-s: black chrome
04-06: matte silver

 

in regards to the grills, being that the 04-06 grill is smaller than my type s, besides the color will it not match up in regards to width?

btw, does anyone know of someone who has modified an 04-06 aspec lip onto a Type S?

 

^^ no---but close. I forgot his name but he put the o4-o6 base on the o7-o8 base. Similar concept though.

So you can install the 07-08 non type S front lip onto a type S front bumper without any modifications/cuttings whatsoever?

 

^what i meant was that anyone can take the front under spoiler and have it cut to make it fit on the type s bumper to make it look more OEM. however, this will require to spend money on having the lip spoiler cut and painted. Yet, if you don't want to spend a lot of money then you can always install it on the bumper without doing any modifications or cuts of any sort. Either way, it will still look nice

Yes, it is possible. Someone on here did it long ago and looked really nice. I believe he cut a bit the bottom grilles.

If you have the 08 type s front bumper then the installation will be very easy. Now if you have the 08 base front bumper, then you can still do the installation without modifications of any sort

 

This is exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll be ordering A-spec kit with a base front for my Type S soon. I figure in the future if I really want to I can have it modified, but I doubt I'll even do that. Thanks!
