Type S Deals

What is the best price anyone has been able to get during Feburary/March 2008 on a new Type S? Is it possible to get $5,000 off MSRP?

Thanks.

Anything is possible, but it is not probable. What color are you looking for?

I didn't think I was promoting myself by asking what color he was interested in. There are just some colors that are not that easy to find, and some dealers may be less likely to move them, ie they will not budge as much on price.

I was also playing w/ my sig, that's all

I purchased my Type S in February and got 4k of MSRP, I walked out the door at 34,900 (not including TTL). The problem that I faced is that there are only 2 dealers in UT, I went back and forth between the 2 of them and that is the best price that I could get. I actually emailed a few dealers in California and 3 of them told me that they would be willing to sell around 33,500, but I didn't want to drive to Cali, pay the sales tax there (8.25%) and have to worry about selling my TSX on my own. So yeah, it's possible if you have a lot of dealers in your area that will compete for your business.

got mine for 34700 + tax difference of my trade in. I also added front lip, rear lip, all season mats and trunk mats, not too shabby! KBP FTW!

If I can get them down to 35k before TTL I will be pretty happy if they extend the warranty to 6 years/100,000.

How much did that end up being off msrp? Also what dealer did you go to and where? I live in North Jersey and I wanna start to shop around for the best deal during these coming months.

Invoice or maybe just above sounds about right from some people. Then don't forget the dealer is also getting 2k cash back from factory.

I would look to get between 33-34k before ttl right now.

I think you are going to have problems finding them below 35k. How people in here got 33k is beyond me.

You've got to be willing to go nationwide

I found a forum at Edmunds.com that deals with this exact topic. There's a separate one for just about every car type out there. Fortunately, the TL is one of the easiest to decipher since there are essentially no options. Trying to figure out how much to offer for a G35 is much more difficult.

I was able to get my dealer to a sale price of $33,500 by referencing nationwide deals. I also made it very clear that I'd be happy to drop $300 on a one-way ticket to as far as San Fran to get the deal. I was serious - can you imagine the fun of driving this car across the country and stopping at ski resorts every night?

Anyway, the OTD price was $36,300, which was a bit too steep for me. I ended up buying a 2007 with < 10K miles from a dealer in VA.

Not really. It should be relatively easy for anybody to get. The car industry is tanking. Pretty much all cars are selling at or near invoice right now. Hell even beamers are.

Well then on top of that Acura is paying 2k directly to dealers to move the Acura TL off the lot. So take off 2k whatever invoice is at in you should be betwee 33-34 then add TTL.

I got the same kind of deal as voidtrance. Just under 33K before all the tax etc.
36k OTD. That was end of Feb. Guess car sales are not so good at the moment if you can get 3K under what I told was invoice and 6k under MSRP

What dealer and where did you get yours? Can everyone post what dealer and where from now on when responding to this thread so that everyone can get an idea as to regional prices.

Thanks!

anyone here suspect that Acura will throw MORE dealer cash once the 09s show up?

I'd rather buy an 09 if it had more hp and SH-AWD...but if you could pick up a left over 08 TL-S for $30k + TTL - that would pretty hard to pass up..

i'm guessing the 09s are going to be around $40k...

and yeah, the car market is tanking hard. the economy sucks and the last thing people are doing is buying new cars.... my gut is that as the economy gets worse, the deals will just keep getting better and the car manufacturers have to come up with new incentives to get people to spend money...

Baller.. u serious? I guess you do have to pay premium price for a hot-from-stove type of things ... I got mine several months later than yours & didn't have to pay that much: right around invoice price @ SC Acura

I stand corrected after getting one quote today. Hopefully as I get a few more, they get better

I only wish I could get the 2k cash back price combined with the 2.9% financing

I still call BS. I don't care WHO you know. Financing ALONE can't do that. You sound VERY similar to another guy who came on here claiming something similar and then in the end it turned out he was paying OUT THE NOSE on the financing and it wasn't even a PURCHASE but rather it was a LEASE!

So, in the end it was like "Hey, I paid $1.00 out the DOOR!"....but I am paying $25K in leasing money (i.e. rent) and have to turn the car back over to them in 36 months...Do'ah!

my dealer offered a tl type s for invoice price. the invoice price is 35k. Everyone on this sites getting better offers. I guess 35k is abit too much. So perhaps i should try to bargain and lower the price down to 33k.

Thanks.

I got mine 08 Type S mid December and the sticker price was 38,900 and did a lot of research and had 2 dealerships fighting for my business and ended up paying 33,800 before tax of course. My advice is don't walk into a dealership in till you agree on a number. I literally walked in and was out in about a half hour.
