I just got an 06 TL. And from what TL Mag reviews say. I can go 340mi in the city with a full tank. I'm almost there but thats with a tank and a half. I don't step on the peddle hard. But my mom did fill up with 89 ot and not 93. Do u think it's just a new engine, or something is wrong. Or is it the gas. That needle is out of control. And another question. In a Audi A4 using the dual zone climate control one side get very cold, and the other very hot. If i try that in my car one side gets cold and the other mainly cuts off. Any body experience the samething.
93 ocatne burns easier giver better mpg and if u have navi, the tw olittle things on the das measure temp in both sides, so if one side is hotter, it will divert colder air to that side. FYI tl needs 91 or higher (recommended)

Yeah thanks for the input. But after I added it up i'm only getting 12mpg, and that ain't right for a new car. And let me refrase my other Quetion. When i try to make one side blow (fan on high) cold, and one side hot, like in my neighbor's Audi. The side i put for hot mainly cuts off. U can barely feel warm air comming out. while the other side is blasting fan high cold air.
Is there a point of puting one side about 8 or 10 degrees more or less than the other? if its hot out and you have it on 65 i doubt the other guy will have it on 75
plus if you have it on 60 and the other side on 80 the cabin is gonna be around 70 anyway so y not just leave it on 70.

I think what you are probably encountering the threashold on the temp spread. It is not set up to work the HEATER and AC at the same time.....so basically what you are describing, I think, is the car just cutting the vent out in order to let the other side reach whatever temp you are seeking by way of radiant heat or by just NOT blowing AC into that part of the cabin. But as others have mentioned....you are only going to acheive a small margin of difference in actual cabin temp overall...and you car does know what the temp is outside too and is just using that to its advantage? Not sure...may be different in the winter when it can use heat AND draw cold air from outside....I dont know. Good question. Never paid that much attn. I HATE it when people try to mess with that dual thing anyway...I usually try to secretly turn it off without them noticing.

Ok to to kill all this A/C talk answer this. If u put the temp on high FOR BOTH SIDES, and turn up the fan. does the hot air blow out the same way, speed ,or pressure the cold air do. When I do it I feel nothing out the middle or rear vents, and barely heat out the side vents. I think the outside temp has something to do with it. I live in Florida i don't care if the heater work or not.But if i ever sell it to a person up state. in the winter time they do.THANK U

Just got a '06 TL w/Nav - 735 miles so far - first fill up (top off tank) 25 mpg - next fill up (full tank) 24.21mpg - down to half a tank right now at 186 miles
Using that nasty 91 octane - - $3.24 / gallon
