Two tone interior

So I have a 2004 Acura TL with parchment interior and my seats must go! I was thinking about just changing the seats to black. How do you think that will go? The dash is half black half parchment so the carpets would still match the dash. Opinions welcomed!

Well it is your car and you'll have to drive with what ever decision you make, so make sure YOU like it. We can tell you what we like all day long, but you're the one who has to drive it.

True, but was just hoping for some feedback before I make any final purchases. I am hoping the black seats dont stick out too much or anything

^Agreed.

If I remember correctly, there was a 3G TL for sale with Parchment interior with Ebony seats and it didn't look all that bad. I'm not sure that I would do it, but that's just my

Well of you're thinking of buying black seats you could just always go the custom way. Two tone black with parchment inserts and threading. That could tie in well, or even the other way around.

IMO it could look good. I've never seen it, but I'd like to see pics if you do it. Even though I have the ebony interior anyway.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys! I think it would look good with the black carpets too if the carpets are too much.

I think it would look amazing
I have parchment interior with back all weather mats and it looks real good. I would def get black seats but I dont see the need to drop that much money to change my seats out when i could be getting coilovers or rims

Rather than change the seats to black, why not change the carpeting and floor-mats so it kinda looks like the two-tone created by the Taupe Interiors on the TL-S:

BMW style:

Plus it'd be much cheaper and your car would look awesome with new carpets! Plus you could finish it off with a custom alcantara headliner!

But to get the exact above look, you would need to dye the lower plastics on the door panels, dye the trim pieces along the center console/lower dash (or you could buy them) and as well the seatbelt pillars.

I love the way the tl-s has the taupe and black interior but think it would be a huge conversion from my base parchment. The door panels too would need to be changed so I was trying to make it as easy as possible.

not really, the leather in the doors can remain parchment, and the lower panels can be dyed according to a shop near me.

Check this link to see the black seats on black carpet with the parchment interior. I believe he installed the black carpet first, then the seats. I have the parchment int. as well, and like the contrast of the all weather mats (I have), and have thought about installing the black carpet. Hope this helps.....

Those are the Stock TL-S gauges for 2007-2008:

Base TL 2007-2008 are like the TL-S ones, just blue

Yeah the older 04-06 gauges looks pretty old school compared to the newer interior 07-08 gauges.

Back on subject I personally think parchment interior would not look good with black seats. I used to have parchment interior on my previous TL which was an 07 NBP with parchment. Im trying to picture it with black seats and I think it would look pretty goofy. I know you may be trying to change things up a little but I would personally just get new OEM seat covers for yours and keep it as is.

So sad to compare that to what Acura is now. Those were the days when Acura built beautiful, sporty-looking cars.

Now they're so much more vanilla.

If I had to do it all over, I'd go for a custom red/amber/orange leather variant. Would look awesome in a WDP but you'd have to do the center armrest as well and could get away with leaving the doors original. I wish the TL-S came in that umber leather interior.

there is a thread of someone who has Type S with Taupe interior but he has the outside seat Ebony color and the middle insert is Taupe. It look much better than Ebony/silver imo.
