Two Races

Two of my friends want to race me. One has a 97 firebird v6 auto with some kind of intake. The other has a 2008 Honda civic si manual. i have a 99 tl with no mods at this time cld air intake on the way but stock can i beat them?

You will beat down the firebird by a large margin(waste of gas IMO). They are just downright slow. The SI should take you no problem as long as he is an average driver.

Alright the guy in the Civic is an insane driver he smokes v8 sometimes just cause he good at shifting and V-Tec

I think you guy will be surprised by the V6 Firebird. In auto form, those cars typically run mid 15s which is right in line with a 99TL, possibly better.

I haven't noticed that. Most I have seen run mid 16's stock in auto form. On dragtimes there are a few Firebird V6 auto's with I/E running high 15's with 2.3+ 60fts. The 5spds run mid 15's all day long though in stock form. One ran a 15.2 with just intake on a 5spd.

I still think the Firebird V6 auto is a waste of gas. Be my guest though if you want to run him. They are no faster stock than my old 01 Accord V6 J30a1 auto.

I've driven the F-body V6 (Bird and Camaro).....it's a mediocre and anemic V6 at best. NOTE: The only exception to that is the late great Turbo 3.8 from the 89 Turbo TA)
