I have seen pictures posted that show 2 little lights on the overhead in between the sunroof control and Homelink. What the heck are these and why don't I have them? They look cool.........I want them. Are they a dealer installed option?

 

I thought it was on every TL. They are mood lights. They give a nice feel to the interior. Like I said, it should be on all TL's

 

Not mine #@&*!@#$>. What do they do, come on with the headlights for interior lighting? Can they be dimmed? I'm pissed!

 

They come on with the headlights. They do not dim. That's very wierd, I never heard of another TL not having it? When did you purchase your car?

 

Built in June bought in July. How about it boys and girls, does eveyone else have them?

Everyone has them. Just turn on your headlights you should be able to notice them. They are more noticeable at night.

If you don't have them, perhaps you don't have a third gen TL.

You should be able to see the holes for the LEDs. Maybe they are malfunctioning if you don't notice them when you turn on your headlights.

DUH! Maybe I have that Korean knock off that's being sold as an "04 Acura TL. By God I'll sue!!!!!! Thanks for the feed back but I'm telling you guys, I don't have them.

Turn on your headlights ... take the back of your hand and slowly begin to raise it from the shift nob towards the map lights in the ceiling .. you'll begin to notice your hand is gaining a blue-ish hue. It isn't some science fiction type virus .. it's blue LEDs in your car!

 

Dammit misspelled THESE.. it should say... THESE ARE THE LIGHTS.... but ohh well i am not going back to photoshop and reopen it.. here ya go.. you should get the idea.. lol

Just kidding. I don't have 'em. I also don't have the car with me so I can't go look again right now, but I've seen some pics before and went to look at my car and they weren't there. I'm pretty sure................well sort of sure.................well almost sort of sure..........you know, maybe I just missed them.................but I'm pretty sure that if they're there they don't work................I think.

Thanks for the pic GunnmeTaL. Those are the lights I'm talking about. I'm tempted to call my wife and ask her to go look in the car but trying to explain what to look for will only start an arguement so I'll wait until I get home this weekend.

Haven't you been reading the Lexus boards? The TL is an Accord so of course if we have them the Accord will have them too.

I'm sure they're there. I didn't even notice mine for about two weeks. Then one night...What the...??? I saw my hand turn blue when I reached up to open the moonroof. Very cool.

As an aside:
I HATE red interior light like BMW insist on. You cannot read any of the guages at night.

Well, I'm back in town. Came in the house, kissed the dogs, petted the wife and went outside to the car. I looked up, didn't see the holes then turned on the headlights and didn't see any blue lights. Then I held out my sheet of paper and magically 2 little spots of blue lights appeared. It's hell to get old!

rontatuaf-my car is always only about 10 feet away, in the garage right outside the door of the room where my computer is, and I can't count how many times I have had to go out and refresh my memory on something that someone wrote in to this forum.
