Turning off "fasten seatbelt" warning beeps?

So whenever I drive with out my seatbelt this annoying "BEEP! - BEEP! - BEEP! - BEEP!" :bigun2: comes on with a message telling me to "fasten my seatbelt". It goes off, that would fine, but it starts up again. This a stupid question, but can I turn it off? I usually always wear my seat belt, except in the morning after I leave Starbucks to my office which is only like 800 yards away. The obnoxous "BEEP!" at 8:30am is a pain in the a$$, but note to Honda engineers, it WILL FORCE you to put your seat belt on, so koutos to you.

Put the seat belt back on, you never know what's gonna happen within that 800 yards. Or, take a walk

With all the airbags (front, side, curtain) there's no need for a seat belt ... j/k.

that would piss me off to have it keep beeping. with my line of work it would be a bigger headache to wear a belt durring work than to not to. i would talk to the dealer and have them atleast pull the chime

There was ever a long thread talking about this BAD idea... it seems there is no good way to disable it.

You may ask the shop to disable the chip or feature after you sign the disclaimer.

Or you could go to junkyard buying the old seatbelt bolt, and insert it permanently for your 04TL...

that shit drives me crazy. the best i think we came up with was maybe inserting a 2003 TL seat belt thing b/c someone tried an older model TL belt clip and it didn't fit.

I get customer's that call me all the time about it..The solution? Wear the belt! It's there for a reason!
I think the other funny complaint I had was an older man who had gotten an LS430 from me. He was complaining that he's trying to enter the information on the nav screen at standstill, and when he starts moving the button turns grey and he can't push any buttons..He wants to know if something is wrong with the car....Oh well..

I could never understand and still don't understand why people choose not to wear their seatbelt, I mean it's their for a reason not to just annoy you. Everyone should wear their seatbelts at all times when driving, for anyone to say that its not necessary, or doesn't do anything you obviously have never seen motor vehicle accidents where seat belts would of played a huge role in saving their lives. But to each their own.

I have an uncle paralyzed due to not wearing a seat belt. All the other 4 passengers walked out with minors bruises and scrapes after the car flipped upside down. He was the only one that didnt click it. I was guilty of not wearing seat belts either but that incident has forever changed me.

what annoys me the most is that if the passenger doesnt wear his belt in the 08's then it does the same thing, I always wear mine, but I have a friend that never will when hes in my car so I have to listen to the damn annoying warning every time he rides with me

I hope you people realize the majority of accidents are on the most common routes a person is on because they assume the road. Don't be a Darwin award; wear your seatbelt.

I don't know why this was resurrected but AZ does not promote the idea of disabling a safety feature. Thread is closed.
