Ok I searched for a good half hour last night and couldnt find any turn signal LED's (ToWERS) for the rear or the fronts that would fit without any slight housing modifcation. Should I assume they dont exist or do they and I missed it?

Ne one with info please help.. thanx! Getting my lights cleared next week and figured would be the best time to do it.

Any of the 7443 towers will fit without modifaction. The ONLY led bulb I've seen that won;t fit is the autolumination switchbacks... and you have to widen the hole to make em fit.

Post a link to which ones you're considering, I'll tell you if it'll fit.

TheWander... You wouldn't get firtehr that 10 miles around Northern VA with blue led running lights. Popo don't take kindly to folks sporting blue lights other than cops. I'll see you pulled over on the side of the road.

i'm sticking with vleds from now on. Not sure about 07's or later, but 99% of 7443's fit in 04-06's

On that V-Leds.com that Wanderer was talking about I was just looking at it and they have a diagram on how to do it. Just click on the resistors and they will show you what to do.

Think these would work very well? I know they'll fit but will they be bright enough?

http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm

About 1/2 way down the page.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7443 OR 7440 36 leds (12 forward facing + 24 side facing leds)

INTRODUCING THE WEDGE MATRIX III LED BULB

That look interesting, I wonder which one would be better, the SMT Tower type w/ 24 LED's or the Wedge type with 36 LED's?

I was about to buy those today, but I read that a resistor is needed with LEDs. Is a resistor needed with these LEDs as well?

anyone know the best method of sealing the switchback LEDs tightly? the hole was soldered and widened to make that huge LED fit in there.. (turn signals) and it's kind of loose and am worrying about condensation......

I think you need resistors for all singal LEDs

Yes, you need resistors for all of them. The only LED's that don't require resistors are those that stay lit one way and one way only (doors, map lights, side marker lights, etc.)

If you are talkin about the LEDs, they are bulbs that stick right into the socket. If you are talking about the resistors that prevent the hyper-flashing, then it depends on the resistor

Stave...make sure turn signals other than amber are even allowed in your municipality. If it's not, I wouldn't go for it. I would just do the side markers at that point, which most likely will not require any resistors and should just be plug n play.

haha, doh, I just saw the switchbacks in the angeleyes thread, and they looked slick! Unfortunately I did read about how the LED is bigger than the hole size, but that you can solder the hole bigger (but then it doesn't seat right). hmmmmm.

No stress with the resistors guys! Just buy the 6ohm 50Watt ones at each light and splice one wire of the resistor to the ground wire (negative) and the other wire from the resistor to the power wire (positive). The resistor will now be taking the load and the LED will work at the correct flasher rate.

Remember these will get very hot so DON'T let them dangle around and melt other wires and don't cover them. The sinks need air circulation. Don't mount them to any plastic parts. Screw them into a metal part of the car so it will allow better dissipation of the heat.

Rockyfeller, I cleared out my headlights in the summer and put in LEDs. They hyperflash. I have the resistors but dont want to take off my bumper to put them in because I think its too much work for it. This weekend im going to be switching out my tails, do you think I can wire them up to the signals back there to get them to flash correctly again? or do I have to splice it into the front signals?
Thanks

You dont have to remove your bumper to put in the LED turn signals or resistors. You just have to reach from the wheel well and the hood.

He's right you can wire them in for the fronts through the wheel well....Though you will need good lighting and have to move the wheel to and fro. Trying to mount them will be a challenge. If anyone is trying to use the solder method to get switchbacks in you HAVE to remove the headlight.

For the rear, easy man, just pull back the carpet and get in your trunk or lay on your back. I used the solder plastic-melt method to get my rear LEDs in WITHOUT removing my tail-lights. I just lay on my back in the trunk. Good ab workout, lol!

Well I put in angel eyes and the wires are wrapped tightly so they dont move and in order for me to put the resistor on I would have to get behind there. Thats why i was wondering if I were to put in the resistors in the back turn signals, would they stop the hyper flashing caused by the leds in the front?

Ebay $14/pair....What's wrong with amber LEDs? It's the best way to go if you don't go switchbacks. Blue or white ones are guaranteed to make a cop do a doubletake.
