TSX Loaner

I have this loaner and now my wife keeps staring at it and going on about how she would trade her 03 Infiiniti G35 coupe for it, then my mom chimes in with her comments about how beautiful it is, then my neighbor. What the heck, did you all forget about my beautiful black 04 TL and those great things you say about my ride. This TSX is nice, I admit, they did a good job outside and inside but I still remember the feeling in 2004 when I walked in to get a part for our red legend coupe and seen the new TL which I had no ideal it even exisited and went Bonkers! So Im staying strong and dedicated! but Damm that Tsx is kinda sweet. sure comes loaded. Again new models do draw attention and it is 5 years newer then my 04 TL so its going to be nicer. It almost reminds me of the size of a BMW. Acura Design team does good work

Better not trade your TL in for a TSX. In my book, that's going backwards!

No way dude!

I saw a 09 TSX next to a 08 TL-non type S at the dealership today, so I did a very close comparison. The TL looks much much nicer, sportier, more luxurious....not to mention the ugly grill of the TSX

and front grill should be the most important, sort of like a signature symbol of the company....I know it's subjective, but like 80-90%, even the salesmen, say it's not very attractive....

Do you guys remember when AUDI changed their front grill styling in 2005/2006? That was AUDI ADVANCE....

Kevin,

Chris at Jay Wolfe Acura probably did that on purpose...to terrorize you !!! They always give you a nicer car than the one you currently own. Is it making you think twice????

If you want to do a TL vs. TSX thread, I think that would be ok, but if you want to just talk about the TSX, you can take it to the tsx forums or cartalk.

Not really a fan of the new TSX, too ugly outside and too big on the inside.

I guess your wife and mom are just noticing it more because it's a new car with different features compared to your 04 TL.

The new TSX sucks in every proportion except one.....They have really upgraded the quality of materials on the inside! It doesn't feel like a TSX anymore. No cheapo interior here, it has joined the ranks of being very close in quality to the TL. I'm sure this means that the new TL will step in quality closer to the RL.

I also had a loaner TSX from Jay Wolfe today... and as much as I enjoyed being on the inside, I'd take my TL-S anyday. It was smooth and clean, but I've been in Rascal scooters that have more pickup than the new TSX.

I was happy to get back into my car and feel the power that the TL has.

Here are some pics of it though:

TL FTW!

I have TSX loaner right now while my TL's clutch pedal assembly is being replaced (under warranty).

Positives:

The interior is MUCH improved over the previous generation. The iPod integration is pretty cool as is the live traffic and back-up camera, things my TL doesn't have.
The power is OK - enough to get around town but I can definitely tell it's a four cylinder. Handling is pretty good too.
I liked the design of the gauges for the tach and speedometer.

Negatives:
Although the interior quality and design is improved, the dash material looks like styrofoam painted with matte black paint - cheap looking.
With my TL, I could figure out the navigation/audio system pretty easily. The TSX's dash is pretty confusing to be honest and not very intuitive.

Buddy, good pictures. I don't like the grill...don't like the headlights either. Just watch-the new TL will look ALOT like this too. For you and me, I'm glad we have our TL's. I've always seen the TSX and a mini-TL.

3rd gen TL is by far the best

styling is perfect...performance? u cant complain, it has good power for a luxury car...

the 4th gen wont be as attractive in terms of exterior...interior will always get better just because of technology advancements...

we shall see when the 4th gen type-s comes out what it will be, maybe they have reserved a different grill for that...(although im not sure they will make a type-s)

My brother traded his '05 TL for the '09 TSX and I got to drive it when I visited. It has some nice pickup four a four cylinder. The paddle shifters are very smooth and in my opinion are better to use than the stick on the TL, that is if you don't have a Type S.

I ended up trading in my '06 for the '08 and I too felt like my brother "downgraded" in a way.

Am I the only one who thinks the TSX looks like crap? Neither the 1st gen nor the 2nd gen look good imo. Definitely nowhere near as good as a TL.

People always say something good about new products. Your 04 TL, they see every day. This is a new car that they've not seen. Relatively speaking, it's not a bad looking car compared to what's out there. However since your 04 TL isn't sitting next to it, they are not comparing it to the TL. They're comparing it to their cars. Bring the TL home AND have the loaner and see what they say. But obviously you'll say that the TL is better than the TSX. Not like you're comparing a TL to a Aston Martin. Take your wife to a clothes store and take one of her "nice" dresses. See what she says.
