TSB work outside of Warranty
Not sure if this belongs here on in the Problems and Fixes section so Mods feel free to move if need be -
I'm 98+% sure I have a bad ABS modulator as described in this TSB -
http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/b07-041.pdf
So here is my question -
I know this is largely dependent on the dealer, but I was curious to see what if any lucky folks have had getting any "goodwill consideration" for work done outside of warranty if there is a TSB that covers the problem.
I have had very little work done on my car (problem free), but when I have needed work I have taken it to the dealer where I bought it which is about 40 miles away. There are other dealers closer but I have no relationship with them at all - one didn't exist when I bought mine and the other wouldn't budge on price. I also have a local independent repair shop which is less expensive and does good work.
Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm thinking that having some of your routine work done where you bought it is going to be a plus.
If you are faced with someone who can only say, "No", keep your cool and try to find some one who is allowed to say, "Yes".

Service MANAGER is who you need to speak with--that person can make decisions and negotiates with the acura warranty rep on your behalf in needed
Call and make an appointment thru them direct- so the diagnosing tech will look at it, or possibly test drive with you to make sure whats going on
Tell them you bought the car there and prefer them to the 2 closer dealers
If it needs some Goodwill involved, mention how you would be happy to give them all 10s on the survey cards, calls and emails--that gets them bonus $$ for good remarks
Note- anything less than all 10s is considered a fail by acura corp- who does see every one of those cards then sends them back to the dealer for review
You should be able to leave totally happy, or the manager should have stepped in to make it that way~
First they have to diagnose the problem- then see what to do about cost or not
That abs modulator was pretty common failure
Call the manager now
You can call acura and ask if its got a special warranty now 1-800-382-2238 x5
the warranty length varies when they find problems with safety items
