Lightbulb TSB Tracking

All,

How about if we use this thread to track Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for the 04 TL? This way when you go into your dealer's service dept. you can reference a known and documented problem and a lazy tech. won't be able to dismiss your problem with a lame comment like "we're not aware of any problem with the _____" or "no one else has mentioned _____ as a problem, you're the first". :banghead:

So, anyone who has a problem fixed please inquire as to whether a TSB existed for the problem and what the ID # is then post that number here. I myself am interested in the fix for the seat memory problem and hope to get that fixed when I go in for my first oil change.

need4spd, mengle - any upd. with supposed fix for seat memory loss?

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

No fix that I know of yet, dealer is supposed to call when avail.

But my dealer could be behind the times.

RJC RSX, I started to poke around the site you provided a link to above and got this in pop-up window:

What's up with this???
All the more reason to get the TSB #s from techs. who are willing to spread the word...

Sounds like Honda/Acura worry about the coming-soon TSBs would hurt their sales. Or, they just try to prevent any individual using those data inproperly.

Or, Acura is gonna announce tires/vibration/Seat Memory issues soon, and don't want this damage their sales of 04TL...

What other car makers do with this? I guess you have to pay to get those after paying money?

Re: TSB Tracking

enorton,

You should collect at least one TSB-like info, and ask Mod to have your thread sticky. Good idea to have all TSB and Advisory-info togetehr...

Then, you can add them on when collecting more and more...

Well, that sounds fine...

Lets first get our hands on at least one 04TL TSB then we'll go for the sticky thread...

Geeez, guys -

If you want TSBs, why don't you go to the real source?

The Real Source

Ain't the Internet a wunderful thang?

Oh, and by the way - As of today (24-FEB-04) there are now 3 TSBs for the 04TL.

And, only one of the things that people whine about in this forum are in the list (You get to find it on your own via the website. I don't want to spoil the surprise!)

Now we have two new things to whine about, too!

¿GotJazz?,

That's Great! I'm no fan of reinventing the wheel! As you can see earlier in this thread I attempted to go to a TSB site that another member suggested but it didn't work....but your site does! Thanks for the info...

I knew this, and felt confused sometimes.

For example, lots of early built cars have to upload the new ECU software in order to correct MIL ON issue. When I did this, I saw the service-advisory info in my dealer. But later, more and more ppl have confirmed there is TSB for this issue now. This isn't in the NHTSA sites yet.

Maybe Acura has another system to store TSBs.

Finally, I don't know what they are. My stupid dealers never told me anything about them...

Is Anti-freeze smell from AC/VENT related to "VISIBILITYEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM:WINDSHIELD:CONTROLS/WIRING"?

Is rattle of Glove box relevent with "GLOVE BOX HOUSING REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT TIP. *TT"?

I'd guess that tip revolves around the clips used to hold the glove box in, and the fact that they are usually destroyed when taking the glove box out and must be replaced.

I don't think so. How would the glove box issue be a safety related item?

I think their safety stuff ia in a "Product Recalls" area.

My suggestion is to create another new Thread and put them in again if you need "sticky" with it.

Because I have destroyed this one. My bad. :o

Some early built car, VIN# under 12xxx (or 14xxx, sorry, don't remember), their MIL (Maltifuctional Indicator Lamp, so-called the check engine light) will flash frequently when you rev your engine high, especially when you rev over 4k RPM. That light will keep flashing until you slow down.

Acura finally addressed this issue in Dec, and inform dealers of this update. Dealers could use the new software to update your ECU and make it less-sensitive. Someone also changed their craft sensors or other components at that time.

But this had caused some big mess in Oct & Nov. Lots of ppl had this problem, but no one knows how to fix it.

My stupid dealer even told me in Nov that Check-engine-light is NORMAL, it indicated your car required up-shifting to the next gear. #W%UW$##...

Hope this could help...
