TSB for grooved rear rotors?
Does anyone know if there is a TSB out for grooving in the rear rotors? I've seen a few others in this forum who have experienced this. I brought my car into the dealer but they won't replace them .

Grooved rotors will likely be considered a normal wear item. Normally it happens when the pads get down to the rivets and metal backing plate which would be the customer's fault. Sometimes they can happen from debris getting imbedded in the pad.
The only exception I can see would be if it were from a stuck rear caliper. You would know because the normal super long lasting rear pads would wear out quickly before the fronts.
I've never heard of a TSB but maybe others have.

Even if there were a TSB, which there isn't, that is not considered a recall, so it would be on your dime anyway.
If only one groove, occasionally something gets trapped and can cause a groove in the rotor, but with multiple grooves, the brakes have worn down at sometime and destroyed the rotor.
For the cost, if you can do the work yourself, just replace the pads and rotors and you'll be good to go.

thats right--
many rotors will get a small groove(s)--from metal in the pads
My RB rotors have a few and nothing to worry about
Or are you talking about GOUGE into the surface- something MMs deep?
3 year old car- why would the dealer comp you rotors?
TSB = Technical Service Bulletin--or should be called Technicians SB
as its made by techs who find a fix to unusual problem- then share it thru the acura network for other techs. The intent is to save time for others--
acura doesnt like paying for diagnosis time on warranty issues when they already know a shortcut to an answer.
brake jobs are a normal part of life,, every 15-40 on fronts--60+ on rears
rotors first time to get rid of junk acura part,,or put up with them till 2nd pads
and rotors are too warped
Be sure to flush your brake fluid- you are 3 years old- its time
I do it before the brake work so no backwash of crud inside occurs to damage the calipers
When you see the crudded brake fluid come out -you will understand
