Trying to figure out Base and A-Spec difference, help?
Hey guys,
I'm trying to plan out some future mods and would like your help please.
To my understanding there was a facelift on the TL in 06 right? I've seen A-Spec kits for the early 3G TL, it was one where the front chin spoiler had a gray/unpainted part in the middle. Do the the newer ones not have this or are they just shaped differently because of the fog lights?
I'm trying to decide if I want to leave the front and rear bumpers alone (base) or if I want to get an A-spec kit. Do you guys have any pictures to compare the base kit to an A-Spec kit, or any other kit that looks clean?
Info: My car is a 2008 TL Base
Thanks!
Also, are there any reputable aftermarket and/or oem websites that are popular and trustworthy for our cars? When I had my 94 BMW 325 I used to use sites like ddmtuning.com and ecstuning.com. Are there those types of sites for our cars? I see a lot of aftermarket parts out there for our cars but I don't want to put just anything on my car. I want it to last and be quality.

Lucky for you, you can be hooked up with every part you need from Acurazine!
Our vendors will be able to help you out (Heeltoe, XLR8, ACKTL05, OEMAcuraPartsTim, etc)
As for the A-Spec lip kit differences, check this out:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/difference-between-tl-tl-s-spec-703191/#post12289009
In short:
There are 2 A-Spec rear lips.
1 for the Base TLs (04-08)
1 for the Type-S
ALL A-Spec sideskirts are the same, no matter what year, or base or Type-S.
There are 3 different front lips.
1 for the 04-06 (with the unpainted middle lower section)
1 for the 07/08 base (should be a picture in the thread I linked you)
1 for the 07/08 Type-S (the black car in the thread I linked you).
There is no "base-kit". All kits are refered to as "A-Spec" kits.

Awesome! Thank for pointing me in the right direction, i really appreciate it. And yes, by base "kit" i meant just the base bumpers and sides.
Any site for purchasing lighting? One of the things I want to do is switch out the rear red side markers for gray ones like the ones one front fenders.

If you're looking for aftermarket ones (which WILL NOT) match your front ones, you can find them on ebay.

Ah ok, so the ones I've seen that are also gray like the fronts are OEM then?
Is there any particular vendor to choose from over another?
Lastly do these vendors have websites?
Sorry for all the questions, I looked for vendor sub forums but didn't see any. Thanks again guitarplayer16, I really appreciate your help and hope I'm not being too much of a pain in the butt.
