I have had my 06 for about 3 months now and I was wondering if I can ask a question about when I pop the trunk using the dash botton. I would have though that the trunk should pop all the way open when hitting the button. When I hit it my trunk just unlatches but does not open up. Is this the was it should be or do I have bad springs?

 

my new 08 TLs is the same way. its by design. I kinda like it, keeps the rif raf from seeing whats in my trunk.

 

its designed not to pop up to high, if you want it to pop higher you can do this:

FREE:
Remove damper from trunk lid (under lining)
Remove trunk-lid lining

Cost:
Install Rear Wing upgraded trunk springs
Spring tool needed

 

yea there is a small weight in the trunk so it doesn't pop all the way open like some cheap ass car

 

I like that it just unlatches rather than popping up. Think about when its pourin you open the trunk, and POP its WIDE OPEN!!!!

 

It can go both ways. How about when both arms are full of heavy shit and I need the trunk all the way open?

 

put the stuff down on the ground and open the trunk maually.

 

I know what your saying, but me personally, I use a shopping cart if possible, or like paliknight says, put it on the ground. I just dont want the inside of my trunk getting wet.

Ever open your trunk fast after it just rained? I have was not a pretty sight!
