Trunk location Rattle?

Has anyone figued out what the rattle in the back end of the car is?
Is it the trunk location?
Sounds like the spare is loose.
Any ideas?

Can you be more specific? It does not sound like that.
When I go over a speed bump and the rear end is hitting the bump is when I hear a thump or cling sound. Not when I go over with the front tires.

Not to be a jerk, but did you poke around in wheel well for a loose spare lug nut - tire iron etc.? You could try bouncing each side independently by hand - maybe a strut loose etc?

I have the same exact rattle issue. It almost sounds like a metal lug nut hitting a metal surface.

I use to have that noise after my dealer installed the deck lid spolier. After getting home I took off the trunk lid liner and found there is a counter-weight slightly loose. I tightened the 2 screws that held it to the trunk lid. Re-installed the liner. Test drove. And all was fine. Give it a shot.

check the plastic handle that you put your fingers in to pull the trunk lid down to close it. It is srcrewed in. Mine was loose and made noise over bumps

It's technically not a handle, because you put your hand into it, not on it, but it is commonly called a handle due to lack of a better term. You could call it "the trunk lid place where you put your hand to close it", but handle is easier to use. When the trunk is open, look up about 12" in from the right hand edge of the trunk, and you will see the place to put your hand so you don't have to touch the painted part of the trunk lid to close it, and leave fingerprints, etc.

IMO one of the smartest - most seldom talked about, additions to this car!
