Burning Brakes
How many miles are on the car and what year is it?
I like to drain and refill my transmission fluid every 10,000 miles and replace my 3rd and 4th gear pressures switches every 30,000 miles. I also replace the transmission filter (only accessible for 04-06) every 30,000 miles. Pressure switches wear out over time and require replacing. My downshifts started to feel a little jerky and after replacing mine, it shifted much better.
I'd start there and see if the problems persist. New solenoids can be expensive, so I wouldn't just throw new ones in there without trying to diagnose the root of the problem first.
