Transmission Fluid Alternatives
Transmission Fluid Alternatives
Just wondering, when the 3G TL came out Honda z1 was still the fluid and Dw-1 hadn’t taken its place yet. I’ve seen tons on redline d4 mixed with type f for auto trans. I’m wondering has anyone used Liqui Moly Top Tec? The 1200 is Honda z1 equivalent and the 1800 says DW-1 equivalent… anyone used either of these fluids? Or amsoil multi vehicle? Or Royal Purple Max ATF which claims Honda DW-1 equivalent? Just wondering what some ideas are? I’m doing a 3 time flush and just using the valve line max import multi vehicle atf for the flushing cause it’s cheap. But I’m about to do my final fill and I’ve been looking at Aisin dw-1 or liqui moly 1800. Always been a fan of liqui moly products. Any info or personal experience is appreciated!
When I had the same question, I saw 3 brands pop-up. Honda DF-1, Valvoline Maxlife ATF, and Redline.
im currently using Valvoline as the Honda stuff was really expensive. I used Honda on my first drain for a month or so. It helped, but my second drain I used Valvoline and it shifted a lot smoother. Could be more old ATF gonecausing better shifts, or could be that Valvoline is better, or both.
