I recently bought an 07 TL S with 8k miles on it. The person I bought it from lived about an hour and a half away and they had all of their work done at their local dealer. I have a dealer thats about 45 minutes away and I want to take my car there for work. What process do I need to take to transfer warranty and such to that dealer that I plan on going to for work?

 

The warranty transfer is not at the dealership level, but through Acura. If you have the original manuals, take a look at the warranty booklet as there should be a transfer of ownership card to fill out. Fill that out and send it in to Honda, then you'll be able to visit any dealership you desire.

 

The warranty stays with the car, not the dealer. If you take it to any Acura dealer, they run your VIN to determine how long your applicable warranty applies for. You should have no problems taking it to another Acura dealership for warranty issues. Hope that helps.

 

BUT, to get recall notices, etc, you need to be on file as the current owner with Acura.
