Hi guys,

Just went to the dealer today and put my deposit down on an '05 RL, Celestial Silver/Taupe. My '04 TL is a second car so I've only put 4000 miles on it in 6 months. I wasn't intent on trading when I went in, but I asked the salesman to have someone appraise the TL out of curiosity and they came back with a trade-in offer better than Kelley Blue Book! That's the first time that has EVER happened. Of course, no money off sticker on the RL but I wasn't expecting any. The car should be in in 3-4 weeks.

BTW, the TL has been a great car. No rattles, paint defects... nothing. And a blast to drive. I still think it is the best car in its class. It was the car that brought me back to Acura after a few years of Lexus and the RL is the one that will keep me there!

Thanks for all the good advice in this forum over the past few months. I'll still be lurking.

Definately just you. The previous model looks like an old lumber wagon.

 

How do I answer that without making the TL sound inferior? Again, the TL is a great car... the best in its class.

With that said, the RL is just nicer in every way (except styling IMHO, which is purely subjective). Quieter, better leather, real wood, SH-AWD, beautiful guages, EVEN better sound system. You name it. It should be for $50k.

I wasn't blown away by the exterior styling, but it's growing on me. The interior is a slam dunk. You have to drive one to understand. I'll post pics when she arrives!

 

but for that amount money (73000?), i 'd rather to get a S4 instead of RL...

S4 got More HP, More TQ, Faster, Younger, More Sporty, Better engine sound... but lack of space(inside) oh the interior of s4 is ugly

havn't test the new RL, so dunno which one got better better handling... probably German car...

 

Do you mind telling us what they gave you for a trade-in with the TL?

 

What? Two totally different cars with two different purposes. Besides, I owned an '02 A6 4.2. The brakes squealed constantly, parts were super expensive and service was a joke. It will be a long time before I ever consider another Audi.

 

Don't really like to share financial info, but you can look up Kelley Blue Book for an '04 TL w/ Auto & Navi, 4,000 miles, excellent condition.. then add a little more to it. Couldn't pass it up. My other possible option was an '06 Lexus GS430 but I knew if I waited it would probably be $5k more expensive than the RL and Lexus would offer me much less for my TL. Just couldn't justify the extra money for a few seconds off the 0-60 time.

 

yep, different cars and different purposes. if u need RL for ur job, just go for it.

but A6 and S4 are totally two different things too. S4 got much more fun than A6.

Go find a dealer and try to test drive it, then u will understand.

PS: the parts for german cars are expensive, but i think audi offers 6 year 80000KM warrenty , rite? no need to worry about that... and no maintainess fees for in 80000km...

 

One major problem. No manual transmission in the RL.

 

Dude, the S4 can't even be had with NAV in it! Pathetic for a 50k car.

 

Not true, NAV IS definitely an option in that car. It is not LCD, but DEFINITELY an option!

 

they got LCD NAVI PKG for the new S4...
