I stumbled upon a 2007 tl type-s at my local acura dealership.
61k CBP asking $15.5k

My only two concerns are: crack in the dash and rip in the leather on the drivers side

Emailed the sales rep and he said the car was sold as-is.

My 2004 s2000 has 48k

Any opinions on the trade? or pass?

I think you would be better off selling the s2000 privately instead of trading it in.

seconding this but also pass on this one..

cracked dash is a pain.

when i bought my TL, it had rips in the leather, but my dealer offered to replace it (and they did). you can find a better one i think.

also as an s2k owner you should frequent this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-tal...thread-385130/

Yes, i would pass on the TL as well. Plus I think that if you sell your s2000 privately that you and the buyer would both benefit from this. You would get more for your s2000 while the buyer would be paying less from buying a low mileage s2000 from a dealer.

15.5k for a Type S that likely needs 2.5-3k in repairs? Yeah... no thanks.

Seriously, listen to Thoiboi. He's got a nice clean Type S and he's been wanting an S2000 for quite some time. Switch it up, boys.

Alright then- I'll pass.

I was looking at the coverlay/dashmat for the dashboard an upholstery shop for a patch but it seem like a headache

I agree that I would benefit from a private party sale, but the state I'm in has no market so the buyer would either have to drive or fly to me.

I've popped into that thread and they all told me to keep the car. Between a rock and a hard place when I can only afford one car at the moment

s2000's are hard to come by now, especially one with a clean title and low miles! This might be a win win situation for both of you

S2k is a weekend toy. There comes a time in life where 1 passenger seat and a suitcase size trunk just doesn't cut it as the main vehicle.

This is the time where I meet that crossroads. The combination of lack of twisties, straight and flat roads (unless I drive 3+ hour to get to them) and limited space for hauling puts a damper on things

Thanks. Bought it from an older gentleman who bought it new and babied the car. Washed it everytime he took it out and I wash and detail the car every Sunday

Negative. Neighborhood I live in is very quiet with kids running around and I'd like to keep on my neighbors good side

I wish I could to be honest. Bought a place and don't have the funds to keep two cars on top of that. Which is why I would rather trade for a tl since it's my only form of transportation at the moment

I did..

It's his only mode of transportation currently so he's looking for more of a direct trade than anything

Wow! that's a pretty clean s2k! I remember I had an s2k a few years ago as my DD. It was fun for the first 3 months then when you finally needed to haul something then you realized you are screwed!

The other issue for me was interior space and leg room. Not much to work with there.

OP, it sounds like you have a few potential buyers already in this thread!

I would say that if you agree that you'll buy the car from him and put a deposit down, maybe OP can use that to find a TL within an agreed time frame. But it seems like you would have to fly out there to check out the car so it might be too much of a hassle?
