Interesting trade...why the TLof all cars?? Are you planning on tuning your TL for a bit more speed??

I did kinda the same thing although with a lesser perofrmance car. I traded in my beloved 03 WRX for an 04 Navi 5 at TL. I do miss the WRX but the TL is a better package overall as it has the luxury, better ride quality and handles pretty well too. It may not be as fast but it has many other redeeming qualities.

Enjoy the new wheels!

IMO, I think we'll see a flood WRXs and Evos on used car lots because it's really difficult to justify paying $25-$35G for a purpose built car being the main/only car at one's disposal. What you have in performance, you lose in every other area. With the TL you kinda have the opposite effect: you lose some performance (vs Evo) but it WILL make up for it in every other area. Period.

Incindently, I'm considering another purpose built car (the 350Z) but I already have a 2k2 Max and a Y2K Quest minivan.

EvolutionVIII, you wont be alone on your move.

Count me in too, as I traded my 2002 wrx for the TL. A little sad to see it go, but am awaiting the great things the TL has to offer.

The move to make on a 350Z in a G35 coupe. You can get all the luxury features and the good brakes with virtually no practical loss of performance for about the same money. With a better warranty.

I like the G35C except for a couple of things: a) my best friend just got one and b) I want more of a toy. Though its more practical to have a back seat, I can always fall back on my Maxima if back seat use is needed.

My other considerations: S2k, Z4 and Vert 2k3 Cobra SVT ( )

I think the seats in back of the G35 Coupe are there strictly for insurance purposes. Maybe if you have a few midget friends, the seat might have some use.

Why pay more to get less?

Yup! With the TL you'll get more features for less (exc. dealer markup) compared with the G35 (or 2k4 Maxima for that matter).

IF I were to trade my Maxima, I'd probably trade up to the 3G TL with the G35 being a second choice.

a) Get a different color from your friend. If your friend orders the steak, or you ordering yesterday's fish?

b) For a toy, it back to Honda for an S2000, or Mazda for an RX-8, or Lotus (!!!) for an Elise. Of course you can go the other way and get a GTO (Holden Monaro, 350hp) or SVT Mustang (390hp). You could probably get a deal on a C5 Corvette Coupe for just a few $$$ more.

c)As others have said, the rear seat is a place throw your brief case or yesterday's paper.

S2K = Honda S2000
vert 2k3 Cobra SVT = SVT Mustang (390hp)
