Trade TL 04

I own a 2004 Acura TL with body kit and 17 inch wheels. It has 8,800 miles on it. How much do you guys think I will get for a trade in for a 2005. What will be the difference. Car is already piad in full. So how much will my monthly pymts be? I have an automatic and the trade in will be a auto with body kit just diff color.

Dude, why would you want to trade in an 04 for an 05? Nothing much really changed between the two models. If anything, I'd wait until 06 when there are more substantial changes.

Wait for the sh-awd 270-300 hp 2006/7 model like me. There really aren't any significant changes that I can see for 2005. Mine has been so good there will have to be some big changes to tempt me to trade it in.

Why did you get your current car if it wasn't the color combo you wanted?

how do you know that they are even going to make a sh-awd for the TL? it would be silly to keep waiting for a car that never arrives. you could be waiting till 2010 for that matter. the TL is a great car without sh-awd already. keep the car you have now and if something better comes along then go for it if that's what makes you happy. don't keep holding out for something that might or might not come along.

With the negative press the car gets for being FWD when pushed to the limits a 280-290hp SH-AWD Type S version would make allot of sense. Especailly being how great the SH AWS is supposed to be from a performance standpoint.

I had a telephone survey from Acura a few months ago asking me what I would be willing to pay for awd along with some other options like auto headlights.

I hope you said either "nothing, these options should be included with a car in this price range" or "eh, I don't know.... 0 bucks"

that doesn't mean they'll definitely make an AWD version. That also doesn't mean if they do, it will be by 06 or 07

She said the changes were being considered for 2006. I would imagine the awd option would be included in something like Type-S model and be an option like the Infiniti awd version.

I would pay extra for awd but not for auto headlights as they should have been standard like most other cars on the road.

Out of curiousity, I asked my local dealer what they would pay to buy my 2004 6mt/Navi when it had 17k miles (it has 19k now). They said it was worth about 28k wholesale. We both thought it was worth $30k private party at the time.

TOKYO -- Acura will use all-wheel drive on more of its cars, says Takeo Fukui, president of Honda Motor Co.

The redesigned 2005 RL sedan, which will go on sale on Thursday, Oct. 14, is the first Acura car equipped with awd. The MDX SUV has awd.

With awd, "we'll distinguish Acura from Honda," said Fukui at a press event here last week. He didn't say which Acuras will get awd or when.

The awd would fit a V-6 engine of 3.0 liters or more, says Yasuji Shibahata, Honda's senior chief engineer who led development of the awd system. So the Acura TL and NSX also could be candidates for awd.

The Acura lineup includes the RL, TL, TSX, RSX and NSX cars. The RL offers 300 hp, followed by the TL's 270 hp and the NSX's 252 or 290 hp.

The key component of Acura's awd system is the rear differential. It uses electromagnetic clutches to send up to 70 percent of the engine's torque to the front or rear wheels. The differential also can send up to 100 percent of the rear-wheel torque to either side. Most awd systems capable of adjusting torque shift it only between the front and rear wheels and not from side to side.

Honda wants to sell 20,000 of the $49,470 RLs in the United States each year. The price includes destination.

you should wait b/c there's no difference. unless...

1) you got a lot of cash and don't give a hoot about it, then go ahead.

or

2) there must be a really hot chick at the dealership or you just like getting raped by the dealership!

whatever your reason, good luck

I traded a 2001 TL for a 2002 TLS, and I got $28,500 from the dealer. I was going to sell the car privately, but after considering the tax advantage of trading, I decided to take the easy route and trade the car for the Type S. When I traded the TLS almost 3 years later on the '04TL, I sold it privately but the sales manager allowed me to run the private sale thru his dealership, thus allowing me to take the tax credit as a trade. I sold the '02 for $26,650 privately. The car had approx. 12,000 miles and was in excellent condition with the exception of some acid rain spots that the buyer didn't seem to notice although I pointed them out when he first looked at the car. The spots were more noticable on an overcast day, but he saw the car on a sunny day and the bright sun hid the spots in the reflections on the paint. The car was NBP/ebony.
