Totaled?

Hey guys, about a week ago a tornado came through my school at Jacksonville State and did some extensive damage to the area. Including my apartment and my car, but I’m alive and blessed to live through the experience. The insurance adjuster is coming out to see if they can fix my TL but they’re pretty much totaling everyone’s car that was up there. What do y’all think about my car and what I should tell the insurance company?

That rear quarter panel is what worries me. Not to mention the paint work in several areas. I'd say if you have more than 100k miles, the repairs might be enough for them total it out.

Bro, really? The repairs would be well over $10k and the car will never feel the same. Time for a new TL.

Sorry about the unfortunate event! That really hurts to see. A very good paint less dent company might be able to get out most of that damage.

So they ended up totaling it. I did save my wheels though and ended up putting 4 spares from pull-a-part on there for the insurance to take with them...sad thing is walking through the yard I found two 3rd gens with all the parts I needed to fix my car! Talk about a buzz kill. Now since it's totaled I don't know wth to get! I want another car that's going to give me the power and handling of my TL. Any ideas?

With some judicious shopping, nice clean 3rd Gen TLs can be had for reasonable money; if you decide to upgrade to a manual transmission, add in a couple grand extra to the buying price.

Geez, no sooner did I post the above comment when I see this thread:
I know New York is a pretty fair distance from Jacksonville Florida, but this car looks to be pretty darn clean.

I know, right? I just picked up mine from Chicago down the road a couple hours.
Met all my criteria and she home getting the spa treatment.

There's no mechanical damage. That car should drive the same as it did before.

Can't fix that quarter panel with parts, that's unibody and expensive to fix. Everything else was minor. Good luck on the vehicle hunt.
