Torque Spec Help Needed! Please Help?

Hey all,

I'm in a dillemma and would really appreciate a fellow 3rd gen TL owner who has s service manual helping me out. I am upgrading the front brakes on my 04 TL Anthracite/ebony/navi/5at with a brand new rotora big brake upgrade kit that i got a great deal on. it comes with all new crossdrilled and slotted rotors, 4 piston aluminum calipers, stainless brake lines and high performance ceramic brake pads. I will post pics after the install..for all to see. The calipers are red

My question is: What are the torque specs for the brake line to caliper banjo bolt (single bolt that connects the hose to the caliper) and also the lug nut torque specs. I think that should be like 80 Foot Pounds or something.

Please help if you have a service manual because I have one on order but it did not come yet and I wanted to get this job done today!

Thanks

Greg

i dont have a manual, but if you need a response quick, a dealer might be able to help you, I'm sure they wouldn't mind answering a simple question like that. Heck you can even say you're a repair shop workin on a customer's car and say you need the torque spec.

Service manual says 25 ft-lbs on the banjo bolt, both front and back, for the AT model.

79.6 ft-lbs on the lug nuts.

Buzz,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I thought about calling the dealer and then thought to myself that they would think it is strange that a brand new 04 tl would have it's brakes worked on...and why it wouldn't be under warranty and be at a dealer in the first place.. I was chicken to call...lol

I can now perform the operation!

Thanks again

Greg
