Top off oil?

I haven't had my first oil change but am about 1/4 qt. low. Is this any cause for concern? Should I top it off?

I'm at <15% but the dealer is recommending that I wait until it reads <5% due to the special "break in" oil that is currently in the car.

I think no one wants to be the one to say "Read the Manual", and I don't want to say it either, so I won't tell you to look at page 167, middle picture, where it says: If it is near or below the lower mark, see Adding Oil on page 204"

Edited: Sorry, I should have answered your question. 1/4 quart low with 15% to go for an oil change is not bad. I don't think it is anything to worry about, and not necessary to top off, but if it bothers you, you're only using about 50 cents worth of oil so go ahead and do it.

Hey Ron A, thanks for the info! You're right, I should've checked the manual. I thought I'd read it cover to cover. Obviously, I skimmed over the "Service Station Procedures" section. It states that the level should be "...between the upper and lower marks" and that "If it is near or below the lower mark, see Adding Oil...".

So I'm good! Thanks!

Yes add oil, My concern is why the oil was low. These cars should not consume ANY oil. If oil consumption continues take it in something, maybe serious maybe afoot.

All cars consume oil. The loss you are describing is nothing to be concerned about.
