I got hit by #5. Although, it wasn't $500 at my dealer as this article uses as an example. It was $300.

I technically got hit by #10 as well, but I'm over it. I was financing through my credit union but they didn't know if I was going to be approved so they made me fill another an application out. Had I known better I probably would have told them to make me fill one out AFTER the CU "rejects" me (knowing that it wouldn't).
In terms of them lowering my score, fortunately my score is still sufficiently high that I'm not concerned.
