Too much overhang?
I am looking to buy a new car and realy like the 05 TL interior, but still can't love the exterior styling of it. This morning there is an anthracite TL parked in front of my apartment. Took a look at it, and find it has very long nose which is much longer than 03's.
The total overhang ( the portion of car that is in front of the front wheel) is like 0.8 meter or so. Considering its short tail, the driver's position feels like in the rear half of the car, sort of like in a mustang or Bimmer Z4.
Another thing about overhang is, since this car is lowered compared to 03, there is smaller ground clearance. THe combination of small clearance and large overhang is that the car can easily scrape its jaw when getting on or off the ramp of a parking building or driveway. Anybody found this a problem?

I only had one issue and that was with a driveway in Philly that was perhaps the steepest I have ever seen (would've bottomed by brother's 4-runner). The trick was to take it nice and slow... veeery slow.
As for the length of the nose, yeah it's big... but test drive one and see for yourself. I didn't think that I would, but I love the position in the car.

I have not had a ramp or driveway scraping problem. I always enter or exit an inclined driveway at an angle rather than head-on though, just in case.
I don't mind a long nose, but I too prefer short overhangs, just because I think shorter overhangs make a car look sportier.

It seems the ES330 and Audi A6 also have very big overhang, but they put more clearance under the front lip by chizling the front bottom, why don't acura do that
