TLS owners! what sorta test drive did you have?

I bought an 08 TLS last year and I was just remembering the day I went and test drove it. The salesman was like lets go on the freeway so you can really test it out. He said he wanted me to floor it so I could get a real feel for the car and I ended up hitting about 110. I've never heard of any other car dealership letting there customers floor the car and really take it out like that for a test drive.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else got to experience something like that on their test drive for the TLS.

my salesman was a douche! I got on it a little bit and he was all freaked out acting like it was a 500hp car, I told him I have driven much faster cars 2 cars ago was an e46 M3 and my gf has a crossfire srt-6, he was an old man and the test drive was only for about 4 miles but I was pretty much sold on the car due to the fact I had driven my cousin's base TL

The sales man let us keep a 2009 TSX 6spd over night, and we didn't really like it, so i asked about a TL typeS, he let us have it overnight too, but after about 1h or so of driving it around, I went back to the dealership and started talking price.

My salesman was an old Irishman from Philly. He sat in the back seat with my father-in-law and just shot the shit with him the whole time. He didn't even try to sell the car, it sold itself! Went on the highway, opened her up and the only thing he did was to look at the gas gauge and say "oh, we've got plent of gas."

After the first 2 initial test drives (about a 1/2 hour each) I got to know my Salesman and he let me have it for a day.

That got me hooked.

I had a great experience. Got into the Type S, went on a back road, put my foot into the car and that's all it took. He was a very young kid that sold me the car. I told him he was a very bad boy for putting me behind the wheel of a car like that....ha ha !!!

Mine just handed me the keys and said "have fun". I was kind of shocked about it but took it out anyway. I think he knew I was going to buy it since I drove 3 hours to check it out.

I test drove both an auto and manual TL-S when I was thinking about switching. Same salesman each time. This guy was forcing me to run it to redline and we hit close to 130mph. Then we went to a back curvy road to test the handling. He let me take it close enough to the limit that the tail came out a couple degrees from lift throttle around a turn. Unbelievable and so much fun in someone else's car.

My salesman offered a test drive, I told him it wasn't necessary and to just start the paperwork.

Although I didn't buy the type s, my salesmen said punch it. Coming from an integra I reached 80 quick and fell in love. I wound up with an 05 instead, but none the less. I love the 3G. Before the test drive, I was saying to myself whats the big deal with the type s. Needless to say after the drive I was like give m a week and Imma buy it. The sad thing was the type s got sold and I wound up taking the 05.

I was in the market for a pre owned certified. I test drove a few 07 tls but the ride was a bit shaky at 80+ mph. Thats when the sales person was like, try the new 08, I test drove it and the drive was like silk even close to 100 mph. I was like yea, this is it. Even though I was not in the market for a new car but a few bad test drives with 07 tls I pulled the trigger on a new 08 tls.
Made the right decision.

I flew into Dallas and bought my 6 speed Type-S without test driving it. I had a 98 3.2 TL and loved it. First drive was right off the lot.

ok after reading this i just noticed today on the highway that it does the same thing at high speeds. Its been a week since i had my tl-s just wondering if this is happening to u guys also. i thought maybe they didnt balance the rims and tires right.

I think they did do a few very minor adjustments to between the 07 and 08... maybe this is one of them. I've never felt anything at high speeds and I've gone as far as 130 and it was still very level and grounded.

Actually, most dealerships will let you really push the car to show off its performance. The guy who sold me my TL just gave me the keys and let me go for an hour. When I was getting my A3 the salesman actually told me to floor it in the rain just to test out the 4WD.

either you drove it before, or your just a BALLER!LOL At my testdrive it was the same way it was one street away from the parkway and as we were driving around the ramp he said take it to the parkway, alls i remember is i was in the SS mode and got on the ramp i was going up the ramp at average speed because i didnt wanna hurt there car and he said you can go a bit faster so i dropped down into third and stepped on the pedal and alls i see is his head fly back, and we were cruising at 100-110 for like 5 minutes and at that point i was hooked! Im glad that was the test drive car, because i wouldnt have driven my new car like that.

My good friend gave me the keys to an 04 6spd and asked me to test it out for hime and see if it had any issues. He is the sales mgr for a Ford dealership. It was a blast to drive, but I ended up getting an 05 with an AT so my wife could drive it. You should be able to let it open to really see how the engine responds....

The wife and I took the base AT out for a little 20 minute jaunt and it was nice. We also tested an Lexus IS350 and Volvo S60 that same day and it didn't take long to realize the TL was by far the better car overall.

I pointed out the TL-S on display to my wife and she liked the little trunk spoiler so we chose that one Then I just took the TL-S around the block to test the suspension on some bumps. And that was that.
