Smile TL Vehicle Immobilizer System?

Does the TL come with a Immobilizer System. In other words, does the ignition key of the TL come embedded with a transponder chip that prevents the ignition of the TL without the correct key and chip?
I've read that other automobiles come with this extra security measure but I have not been able to find this info on the Acura website.
Cheers!

Yes! Yes and Yes again.

My beloved 1995 Acura Integra GS-R was stolen (from a church parking lot, not less) in December 2002. It didn't have this system. I replaced it with a used '98 Accord that was the first model year for that in the Accord.

I think all Hondas and Acuras have it now -- if you have a "fat" key, there is an RF chip in it.

Heck, my mom's 2001 Civic had it.

...A unique transponder embedded in the key, and only the matching key, can start the ignition. Attempts to hotwire, vandalize or bypass this security feature will result in immobilization of the ignition system.

it still not hard to steal the car with the immobilzer. it will prevent most thieves but there are ways around it.
