TL usage?
Not sure if there was a post about this yet and it makes me wonder all the time. I see alot of topics about people using their TL less then twice a week but not everyone has that option. Since this is the only car I have, along with 2 jobs and nonstop running around.
I picked up my TL on April 27th 2012 and as of today July 29th I have already racked up 5.8k miles. Does this make me a bad person?
Granted the car when I picked it up had 60k miles, I hate seeing the miles rack up on a beautiful car. Was thinking of getting a cheap side car for the fall/winter etc.

I drive it everyday, I could have used it as a weekend car and kept my old beater, but I saw little sense in insuring 2 cars and paying registration on both.
Would have been handy though, the other car was automatic and better for those trips where I need to go to sketchy places.
I get real paranoid taking the TL to sketchy places....

Rack the miles up, no sense in having a nice car and never driving it. If you got a beater you would still end up driving the TL. Honda's run forever, I don't worry about miles. I worry about parking it an leaving it more than anything. I never park by trucks, coups, or beaters and I have no door dings after 2 years..I've been lucky.
I've had my car for 4 months and have already added 11k miles to it. Who cares, it's a car and it's meant to be driven.
Somebody on here has a signature related to this. It said something like Not driving your car to keep the miles low, is like not having sex with your wife to make it better for the next guy.
Something like that.

Unless you make it into a show car, I don't see why you would buy it to drive it only on weekends. It's a nice car and all, but it just doesn't seem like a car someone would buy for a weekend toy.
If you have a car that gets better MPG then I could see why. But no, driving your car everyday doesn't make you a bad person. lol

I bought my 2004 TL with 56K back in Aug 2009. I now have 86K.
However... Got my wife a new RAV4 V6 Limited in Feb 2012. Ever since then I have put only ~1400 miles on my TL, as we now drive her car on the weekends. My car now only gets 5-10 miles a day average.
I am real happy about this, as I want to keep it another 2 years or so, and now it will easily last and hopefully hold some value.

I bought the TL back in Feb 10 at 59,300 miles now its at 63,200 and the reason for low mileage because I have 00 Accord for daily driving. I don't intend to let the TL sit in the garage I mean after all you buy a car to drive it not to let it sit.
Miles, miles, miles yo. I plan on handing the TL down to my boy when he turns 16. He's 8 right now. At 15K a year (high estimate) It'll be at around 200K. Just broken in :P
And it really is just a TL. 90% of TL's are worth between $10K-20K. If we were talking a $50K+ vehicle then sure, it might not be a DD unless you were raking in the dough. But it's not. It's an entry level luxury sedan built by Honda.

I drive mine daily all the time everywhere and I have gone from 91,000km to 147,000 km from april 2011 to july 2012. So roughly 56,000km in 16 months.
I average about 3,500 km a month. . 2007 tl type s
Its a car. Drive it and enjoy it and watch the people stare
