TL Type S tail light conversion

I apologize ahead of time because I am sure this question has been asked a lot. Tried doing a quick search and didn't turn out to well. I have a 06 TL and want to buy a set of OEM type S lights from the dealer. Are they just plug and play seeing the size and everything seems the same or is there any wiring modifications one would run into?

Thanks

everything is plug and play.
you will need to take out the LED board from the 06 light and transplant it into the type-s light.
but everything fits, and you will have no trouble swapping the tail lights as its a direct fit.

How hard is it to take out and swap the board? Does it require taking the light apart? Or does someone have a DIY thread to show how?
thanks

Please check the 3G Service Department before starting a thread. There is a wealth of information in there.

It is a direct swap...

As ggseq suggest please search before opening a thread because you might find a lot of options:

1> someone selling the parts for cheap on BM
2> why not go the route of something from USR (fishcake321 on ebay) here is a link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...item27bd1f8aeb
3> get something custom made from ACKTL05

many many options....

Yea I have seen a few options and debated eBay. However I read and called a local dealer and for OEM set only being $210 Canadian I can live with that. I like authentic when it comes to appearance usually. I appreciate all the comments and help so far. I hope to have this and a A-spec kit ordered soon for starters

Well ebay says a set is $130 plus shipping. So add $40 plus brokerage and your close to $200. I know eith OEM quality is there and its genuine. Although I did look at some of that guys work. It is sick!

That's the going rate, and not just up here. I was quoted that by a one vendor on here and another one quoted $300, including smoked sidemarkers.

You can check out some work right under this (in the links). I sell TYPE-S tail lights for $210 shipped and $230 to CANADA. $210 picked up for them is a great deal. Make sure its not just for one though and some on EBAY do that trick. THey show a pair, but in the description it says one side.
