My TL is the most comfortable vehicle for towing a single place PWC trailer I have experienced. It's way more capable at doing so than a truck. About the only downside is its FWD and a bit low on power.
I have not been in a new F150, but the few older Ford trucks and various model Silverados I've used are dangerously slow, handle like a mattress on top of a ladder, and have horrific braking capability while towing. Regular driving in most every pickup truck is poor, towing does not make things better.
But yes, towing many thousands of pounds is best suited for a properly equipped truck. It just won't be all that pleasant.

when i move this summer,,, idk if i can fit everything in 5x8.
if i cant' i'm going to tow 6x12 lol.................. .... i know....................
with this in the back spring
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wheel-Shock-Absorber-buffer-vibration-arrestor-2PCS-Motor-car-TTC-Urethane-/251217293227?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3a7db7afabD type fits oem (does not fit A spec) rear spring..
the "buffer" "vibration absorber" is bullshit but some of the audio people choose to stick those in their rear spring instead of going for stiffer spring.
lol funny, crown vic forum people said it's more stable with FWD towing
main reason why i can't stand a truck. or SUV... or a crown vic LOL does anyone make a suspension kit to make a CV handle like a TL? i'd like to have one...

I'm not saying FWD or RWD would be better for towing. One big appeal of a truck is a low gear and 4WD. FWD isn't the best for pulling something heavy out of a boat launch. RWD isn't that great as well, since your rear tires are probably in the water.
As far as highway cruising goes, what wheels are driven is probably not terribly significant.
I barely notice the trailer under light acceleration and cornering. WOT acceleration is definitely affected, but its still probably faster than most trucks without a load. Braking is acceptable, and its probably about the same as most trucks without a load. All this while being in a undisputedly more comfortable cabin, and over twice the fuel economy.
To me, going out of your way to buy a truck just to tow small things is quite silly.
