TL Stock tires

I am currently considering the TL.
Can you install tires on the TL that dont have such a low profile?

The stock tires seem to fill up the wheel well quite nicely.
I know it would take away some of the handling characteristics of the car, but I am just curious.

Not sure your question is very clear....why do you want to install tires if the stock ones look good and fill in the wheel well?

Go to the tire rack, they had 16" wheel fitments for snow tires (on the A/T only) a while back with higher profile tires (and smaller contact patch), those will give a softer ride with some loss in steering responce and handling.

But if that is what you need, go for it.

Note the spare is a 16" rim (A/T ONLY, M/T NEEDS 17 to clear front brakes), so a 16" wheel with a real tire will work on the A/T model, but call the pros at tire rack!

I think he wants to know if he can use standard tires as opposed to low profiles. It really is a good question considering the lows have such horrible tread life. Anyone have an answer?

Oswald Vater,

You are correct.
I am looking for a little better ride after the sorry stock tires wear out. I may just go ahead and replace them right after buying the car.

vtec=hapiness,
I guess I mentioned the part of the tires filling up the wheel well because it doesnt seem like there would be room for anything much larger. Im going to find out. Where I live in Texas, the roads are not always in the best condition and I wouldnt mind having a little better ride.
