Exclamation TL A-Spec Front lip "covers"..

Hey Acuraziners!

I just installed my a-spec front lip on my Acura TL 2006.

I'm wondering what are the covers that I had to clip under the front bumper (before installing the lip)!?! There is a left cover and a right cover but I'm wondering what the hell are they for: they seems to be useless, even after we installed the lip!!

What are they for?

Thanks!!

Don't quote me on this but I think I know what it is.

Once the lip is installed, you can still see paint under the bumper when looking at it from a certain angle. Since my car is white, you can see white even though the lip is on. Those pieces pretty much just cover up that painted area.

Guitarplayer16 knows exactly what they are called. He asked me why I didn't install mine

I am seriously considering not using them. I really see no purpose in them except maybe I could see it pushing out the lip some probably not enough to matter

Its just an extra piece that is useless to be honest. I am unsure what it "exactly" is, but it serves no "reinforcement purpose".

I've been struggling to figure out their purpose too.

Alright I found a decent picture of what I'm talking about.

My driveway goes up and then down so the nose always goes in the air. Look under the front bumper and you some paint down there.

The black plastic pieces cover up that area so they aren't visible.

When i got my car, it was missing the side air strakes.

It was a huge eyesore to me, but if you're low enough, I'm sure you can't see it enough to bother you.
It was when I was 4x4, and from 3 feet I don't think you'll notice it, but when you're walking towards your car from 20 feet away, on a straight on view, it bugged me so much since the big middle piece just abruptly ends on both sides.

You tell me. One of my bolts for my bumper snapped despite having removed the bumper last summer without issue and I need to reattach one of them. Looks so out of place now.
