TL seats... is there a difference between the TL and the Type-S seats?

I'm just curious and figured i'd learn something more about Acuras. Does the normal TL have anything less than the TL Type-S seats besides the Type-S stamp on the headrest?

Was always curious, figured I'd ask.

Thanks in advance.

There's an offical seat difference thread that outlines all the different seats for the 3g tl. Search for that. I'd post the link but its a pita on my phone

I did a search at the top of the 3rd Gen TL forum but it gave out threads that must have found any thread that had the word "TL seat"... I'll look again.

Being a member on here for a while, don't think that I didn't attempt to search at all.

No one said you didnt attempt to search. Some of us arent at our computers to help search like ntts stated; so it is a PITA.

Anyway, I usually offer people who are insearch of something to use keywords. I just type in goolge (the keywords I just gave you) and yay it pop up.

Google works wonders and I see you all beat me to it already.

Might be a good idea to Sticky this thread too in the TL section. Just an idea. It's a good write up.

I was more interested in anything that had to do with the bolsters... and looks like the Type-S does.

Swapping in a more effective seat in the 3.5RL compared to the "grandpa" style seat in there currently.

This way it's more modernized, heated, and keeps all the electrical components like the RL instead of playing around with a racing seat which will offer almost none of what I'm wanting.

sounds like the type S seats are what you want. the type S seats arent too hard to swap since its also a TL, but if you want RL seats you may need a lot of customizing and the seat airbags might not even work properly. theres no feature that the RL seat has the a TL-S seat doesnt have....I think.

I think you read it incorrectly...

I'm wanting to swap the Type-S seats / TL seats into my 2004 3.5RL and have a sportier feel in the car compared to the old clumpy 3.5RL seats...

This way i can rewire a few things if needed and swap around a few things and make the TL seats possible an easy swap into the old luxury boat.

No worries, sir! Thank you for posting a helpful link to the OP (and me!). Although, now I'm trying to find a pair of TL-S black seats to put into my 2005...after that, I swear I'm done modding the TL.

Understandable. I was just researching about TL parts. Don't mind my RL in the avatar though.
