TL Scraping

So I've had my 08 TL for around a month now. Getting to know her a little bit, enjoying the things I like about her, while adjusting to those things I don't. I enjoy the ride, her feel, looks, etc. Don't care for the MPG and I'm not sure if the braking is right because it seems to slip/shake on sudden braking.

BUT I was wondering if its normal for my car to scrape that black plastic piece that runs across the bottom of the car around the front tire line. I scrape it going up a drive way, over really high speed bumps, even once on a dip on the freeway. Its getting me paranoid about installing the Aspec kit. Is that normal or is there something wrong with my suspension?

That plastic thing pushes air up to help cool the engine.

Many people scrape them...

The road has chewed up my front air deflector quite a bit and it's normal on inclines and such. Take speed-bumps a tad slower and also try going at an angle instead of straight on on inclines to avoid scraping the bottom.

As far as the brakes, are you getting a vibration while braking at highway speeds or a pulsing or does it feel like it's not braking or what?

Its not so much like the pads are bad and the whole car is shaking. Its more like something is slipping. I'll get them check soon.

Thanks for the answers. At least now I know that its an air deflector. Before AZ I had no idea what the hell that thing was for. And it sounds like its normal to scrape that thing up a bit.

Very good possibility the front rotors are warped.
