Tl-s Pedals

Acura has a part number for TL-S pedal cover set and I just wanted to know if anyone knows if these are the aluminum pedal covers that come with the TL-S. The part number is 46545-SNV-A21. They are like $40.00 so that's a good deal if they are.

Good find if that's the case.

The parts diagram is unclear/incomplete - you can't really tell what's in the "set" and whether they are the aluminum pedals or rubber covers - although both are shown with different item numbers.

I hate to be negative, but it sounds too good to be true.

I was actually thinking about swapping out my SuperComputers pedal covers for the TL-S pedal sets...

That's only one pedal... You need 2, one for brake, one for clutch.

036 46545-SNV-A21 COVER SET, PEDAL 2 2007 TL 41.86 33.32

You need the gas pedal too:

001 17800-SEP-A01 PEDAL, ACCELERATOR 1 2007 TL 108.37 86.26

$150 for all of it.

When you bought them, they didn't offer the "covers" exclusivley, you HAD to buy the whole pedal. Now you can buy just the cover (for brake/clutch), saving you about $60.
The gas pedal is sold as one piece, but you can now get the covers...

This is a great option for folks with 5AT. The auto brake cover is only $10. For less than $100 you can get the gas pedal and the auto cover

The covers install with a pop rivet (included).

I did mine myself. It does require a rivet gun and some drilling. Other then that it was not to bad.

The brake and clutch are fairly easy. You just need to remove the rubber piece, use the new pedal to mark where the holes will need to be, then drill them out. I forgot what size drill bit I used.

As for the gas pedal, it was a bit fun. You will need to unbolt the drive by wire box on the passenger side of the car under the hood. Once that is loose, you can remove the 2-10mm bolts and the 2-12mm bolts that hole the top of the pedal on.

Once those are off, you will need to reach behind the bottom of the pedal and push the little plastic tab in, it will release the base of the pedal. Now the hard part. The cable has to be remove, it is held in by a plastic retaining clip. With a pair of needle nose (or something of that nature) lightly squeeze the back of the retaining clip where the prongs are. This will release the plastic clip and allow you to pull it to the side of the hole. You will then be able to remove the pedal.

Doesn't the sponsored sale for them make more sense since the type s lacks a footrest (the type s footrest is the same on the base)

If you like them more...

for a 5AT, the Type-S option is cheaper (but liek you said, no footrest).

Anyone (including yourself) with a Type-S could/should order a dead pedal from Ultimate Pedals...
