I don't really take the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as completely accurate since the car mags use computer tech for measuring instead of a real 1/4 mile track but its comparing the new 6AT TL SH to the old 5AT using the same equipment. What they don't show in this article is that the new 6AT is about 1 full second quicker to 100MPH which is HUGE!
I bet from real people who take this car to the track we could see low 14's stock with the 6AT since people can get mid-high 14's with the 5AT
Quoted from that article " the new auto did the dash in 6.2 seconds and needed 14.7 seconds to clear the quarter-mile at 98 mph. Compared with the five-speed auto, those are improvements of 0.3 second to 60 mph and 0.4 second and 3 mph in the quarter. During our time with the car, we split the EPA ratings almost perfectly, averaging 21 mpg."

had some fun with the si again today. he has stock exhaust at the moment. he had 1 light passenger and i had almost empty tank of gas. highway pull from about 70, and we honked to make it even. even though 70 is a bad start for the 5AT tl, i actually still beat him. he hung for like 2-3 seconds then i walk away faster and faster. we did 2 runs total, still beat him 2nd time. after the race we talked and he said he was in 4th for the 1st run but went to 3rd for the 2nd run, but 3rd was really high like 7k rpm, but he admits defeat.

I went from an 08 si coupe, IHE tuned on flashpro. HFP sport susp. Progress RSB. To a 4g TL. The SI is a ton of fun to drive. Great little car. Not a drag racer. Fully tuned up felt well powered and handles like a sonamabiatch. Ride is stiff though. Base TL tech feels like a cadillac in comparison lol. Both great cars. Never drove a TL-S but always liked them. Couldn't even find a decent used one to test drive

Just be careful what you post on here because honda indeed has members here and every other popular forum like clubsi, 8thcivic, and to name a few.

Nice kill man. Does he have full bolt ons? Plus a FlashPro tune? If so, then I'm a little surprised at the outcome. I would've expected him to pull at least a full car through the 1/4 mile. But I guess since he had a passenger, that makes things a little different. Good job
PS I'm on 8thcivic too lol. "3.Slow6MT"

I did "research" before shopping for cars. Knowledge is very important. Bone stock manual TL (258hp) can also beat lightly modded Automatic TL-S in the highway pull.
When are you going to change car? Why don't you get an S2000... I like that car. You can attract more girls too with it.

I told you, hot newb kid. TL 5AT is slow because of tall gearinggggg..... The top gear (5th) takes you to almost 230 mph at what... only 6600 rpm? You need to add good 300 lb-ft of torque and horsepower to make some descent use of that gearing. With only 258 hp and 233 tq isn't suitable for this and can even put strain on the engine for normal city driving especially in some hills. You PM'ed me, telling me I'm an idiot, well it looks like, look who's talking.

The manual TL weighs 3477, without the navigation option. You don't even know your own products! ha ha Man, when it comes to cars I know hon.

For me when it comes to cars the fashion is the first! Not practicality. Man I tell ya when I was driving the TL I had a bunch of guys come after me cause my car looked so sharp and handsome.. it's guy's car. Can't attract girls with it.
I did succeed attracting some girl when I had a Mazdaspeed 3. Girls like cute cars.
Now the Lexus IS350 F-Sport.... most beautifully styled. It's chic! Love the fact the rear seats are so tight. That is why I bought it. Tight n cozy.. ehehehehe

The ass view of your car in avatar actually looks good. You must like your car a lot.... Is that a 7th gen Accord?

Just ran across this post so pardon the thread revival. I raced a friends 03 rsx type s with k24 block, we re pretty even. Raced a 2010 civic si sedan with bolt ons and tuned, pretty even. Also raced a 2013 si coupe and beat him about 3 car lengths. I also had a chance to race a boosted rsx type s and he left me like I was standing still. I raced my buddies 04 6mt Tl and we were even and with a 6mt TL S and he pulled off on me at 105-110mph. And btw mazdaspeed3god, I agree, the Tl gets a lot of attention from guys and the IS is sexy but it's a girly car and the back seats are useless. It does attract alot of females though. At one point of time that was my dream car but after having it for a year, I decided to trade it in and that was the best decision. IMO the IS is a mostly female driven car and to me it looks like a girly car. Just my 2cents

Burning Brakes
decided to make an official drag race because we could never decide which car is faster. lined up at the red light, road completely clear in front of us, we decided on a finish line about 1/4 mile down the road. my friends SI is tuned and has launch control. i did a little brake torquing and turned off vsa. light turns green and we both take off at the same time. it was a VERY even race and by the finish line i had at most half a car on him.
this guy is a very good driver and he tracks his car, so there wasnt a driver error. we both had good launches(keep in mind he also has launch control) and shifts. he did have 1 person in his car, and we both agreed that if he didnt have anyone we should have been neck to neck.

I'm the owner of the civic.
Pretty much all I have done power wise is injen replica cold air intake with K&N filter, Kiddracing (SSR Rep. Header), Invidia Q300, Hondata Flash Pro (tuned by magnesium from crsx). Should be around 210-22whp.
Launch control is set at 3k, and pretty much I get wheelspin for a good second or two until it catches.
