Tap shift in a 1/4 mile on a 4spd auto? That's like 1 tap. Maybe a second tap at the last 100ft of the race. So that makes a difference of up to 1 second. Wow. I'd tap all day.

94-96 Impala SS runs low 15's stock, minor bolt ons get it to 13's easy (torque coverter, gears, headers) not to mention there's a ton of them with stroker motors, they were quick 20 years ago stock. I know of a few street driven ones that run 10's and 9's though in our area.

2004-5 FWD POS Impala SS is a supercharged V6, 240ish HP and slow.

2006-09 FWD POS Impala SS is a 303 hp V8, can crack high 13s stockish. 2012+ base Impala's have a 306 HP V6 and better trans and would probably be even with a TL-S.

Stock they're grandma cars.
